COLORADO (Yaakov M / VINnews) — Remember when the media blamed President Trump’s climate policies for bringing about severe weather like Hurricane Florence in 2018?

It turns out, the radical left’s policies to reduce air pollution are what’s actually been causing the severe weather.
In a stunning twist, scientists have discovered that reducing air pollution leads to severe hurricanes.
In addition, having less pollution and emissions increases global warming. That’s because aerosol particles found in pollution protect the ocean from absorbing hot sun rays.
This is almost the exact opposite of what scientists have been telling us for decades.
This information comes from a new peer-reviewed scientific study, quoted by Scientific American, CNN, the AP, and other mainstream media outlets. (Not from Breitbart or some right-wing “science denying” publication.)
The decrease in pollution has had a warming effect on the ocean, which means that reducing fossil fuels and pollution has not had the effect that AOC and other leftists have been promising.
Here is an excerpt from an article in Yale University’s journal on the environment entitled How Air Pollution Has Put a Brake on Global Warming:
“We believe that the volume of human-created aerosols is so great that they have counteracted the effect of global warming to a certain extent. There is a kind of tug of war taking place between the warming greenhouse gases and the mainly cooling aerosols. It turns out we have actually been helping ourselves – we’ve been polluting ourselves toward a slightly cooler climate.”
Pretty shocking.
Here is a quote from a CNN story last week entitled: Reducing harmful air pollution has led to a surprising effect — more hurricanes in the North Atlantic
Aerosols aren’t like greenhouse gases. They are tiny particles of pollution that float in the air and — unlike carbon dioxide or methane, which absorb sunlight and lead to warming — reflect sunlight back to space, which has a cooling effect. There are natural aerosols, but much of the pollution in the early to mid-20th century came from sources like industrial smokestacks and car exhaust…as aerosol pollution decreased in the decades following the United States’ Clean Air Act and similar actions in Europe, the ocean could absorb more sunlight, leading to warmer sea surface temperatures that fueled more storms.
This study is referenced in a publication by NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, in an article entitled: Study: Reducing human-caused air pollution in North America & Europe brings surprise result: more hurricanes
Here is an excerpt: The increasing absence of human-caused air pollution in the Northern Hemisphere…has led to surface warming over the tropical Atlantic Ocean, which contributes to more frequent tropical cyclones. Without significant amounts of particulate pollution to reflect sunlight, the ocean absorbs more heat and warms faster. A warming Atlantic Ocean has been a key ingredient to a 33-percent increase in the number of tropical cyclones during this 40-year period.
Needless to say, this is stunning news. For one thing, Democrats owe Trump an apology, after blaming him for the severe weather, which it turns out came from their own policies.
More fundamentally, this calls into question everything the “people of science” have told us about man-made global warming. If we dared to question whether reducing fossil fuels really prevents global warming, we were labeled “science deniers”.
You could be banned from Twitter and Facebook, or fired from teaching at a university, for questioning whether reducing fossil fuel emissions is a good idea.
Now it turns out the science has changed (yet again), and the harm of reducing emissions may cancel out the benefit.
This is a colossal bombshell, and its repercussions are being heavily underreported by the media.
Aerosols are created by burning fossil fuels such as coal oil and natural gas, as well as from car exhaust and other pollution.
So while reducing fossil fuels and combustion-engine cars may prevent the type of warming that is caused by carbon, it increases the kind of warming that comes from the lack of protection from aerosols. Add to that the massive expense and inconvenience of eliminating carbon emissions, and it’s hard to imagine that these extremist policies make any sense. At the very least, it requires a lot more research, and it may even be doing more harm than good, or the benefit may be negligible at best.
For us Orthodox Jews who believe that Hashem controls every aspect of the universe, it should come as no surprise that there appears to be an inherent equilibrium built into nature, that may be designed to protect the planet from global warming. Although carbon emissions cause harm in one way, the aerosols that often come along with these emissions actually protect from the very same harm.
This may all be part of the master plan.

Trump is brilliant on hurricanes. He was the first to suspect that China sent the hurricanes to the US. He was the first to consider nuking them and he was the first to use a Sharpie redirect. The dear leader is a genius.
This weekly oped is getting quite routine. All things Trump are good and Biden is always bad. Repeat. Repeat.Repeat.
it was just a week or so ago when this columnist claimed that the Russians were “winning” in Ukraine due to Biden’s weak leadership. Will this columnist have the courage to admit error?
Of course it is not Trump fault. The dear leader is infallible.
In any case he has the power to direct the true course of hurricanes with his Sharpie markers
Did you read thie study. It refers specifically to air pollution v. greenhouse gases. Air pollution prevents the ocean from absorbing heat thereby decreasing hurricanes when combined with AN INCREASE IN GREEHOUSE GASES.
. “Tropical cyclones are fairly random animals, and they respond to the random nature of the atmosphere at any given time,” Kossin told CNN. “But certainly, this steady warming of the ocean that’s been happening in the Atlantic because of the combination of greenhouse gas increases and the particulate pollution decreases, that has a profound effect — and the changes to the particulate pollution have a much more dramatic effect on the hurricanes.”
The hurricanes, if they are the result of human activity, would still not be any one President’s fault. Greenhouse gases that create climate change could also be occurring somewhere else on the globe and effecting places far away. The people who said that it was Trump’s fault were the Board members of the Washington Post primarily. Not exactly the best source.
Noooooooo! Say it aint so! Greta will be committing suicide tonight. And Kerry and Algore will be saying “See?! We toldyaso all along!”
Honestly this sounds a little wacky. But we do know that climate change is a big fat hoax. The only thing we know is that overall the weather has been a bit warmer over the past few years. Everything else is just a bunch of theories and correlations. Its voddo science and a hoax.
The real important thing is that we ignore all climate science as we deal with an energey shortage. Just drill, frack, explore, mine for coal, etc do what we have to so we bring down prices
CC is a multi billion $$ fraud. The election was a fraud. Supreme Court on the cusp. This whole country is going down.
About 50 to 40 years ago, the theory that pollution was shielding solar radiation was more popular than the “greenhouse effect” theory (especially after the severe winters of 46-43 years ago, a pattern that recurs every 100 years-remember Valley Forge?) The Pacific is also warmed by “El Nino” which, in turn, is warmed by molten lava in the Earth’s Crust; so forget the theories, there are many factors.
Isn’t Trump the man who suggested nuking hurricanes and who thought he could change the direction of a hurrican by making changes to a map using a sharpie?
