The joyous event is tinged with sadness since the baby, orphaned from birth, will never know his father. Rabbi Yechezkel was murdered by the terrorist as he was walking the streets of Bnei Brak to calm his 2-year-old son on the 27th of Adar Sheni.

Rabbi Avishai David Yechezkel was one of the prominent and well-known young avreichim in Bnei Brak. A graduate of the Mishkenos HaTorah yeshiva, Rabbi Yechezkel invested all of his energies in diligent Torah study. Rabbi Yechezkel always greeted others with a genial smile and was known  to have a wonderful character. For a while he served as a rebbe in the Ohr David Talmud Torah in Bnei Brak.

Despite the great joy at the birth, Rabbi Yechezkel’s widow is still anxious and concerned about how she will succeed in raising the two orphans and maintaining their father’s exemplary values.

Those who wish to donate can do so via the fund established by Kupat Ha’Ir at

The Kupah has promised to transfer 100% of the donations to the widow’s family.
