JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The dramatic ruling issued by the Jerusalem Magistrates Court Sunday permitting Jewish worship on Temple Mount is making international waves. The ruling, issued just prior to Israel’s 55th celebration of Jerusalem Day marking the capture of East Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, has angered the Jordanian political establishment which sees itself as the the custodian of the Muslim holy sites in Jerusalem.

A Jordanian-funded supervising team known as Waqf are responsible for maintaining order on Temple Mount, despite Israel not recognizing the Hashemite kingdom’s claims on the site.

Hamas, which last May initiated rocket attacks over Jewish celebrations of Jerusalem Day in the Old City and Temple Mount, also warned of a “dangerous escalation” in the wake of the judicial ruling.

“The ruling is legally null and void according to international law, which does not recognize the authority of the Israeli judicial system on occupied Palestinian territories from 1967, including East Jerusalem,” Jordan said, adding that the ruling “is a gross violation of international decisions relating to Jerusalem, including resolutions passed by the United Nations Security Council, which all clarify that the status quo must be maintained in the holy city.”

The office of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas called the decision “a serious violation of the historical status quo” and urged Washington “to intervene urgently to stop the Israeli attacks on our people and their sanctities.”

The Hamas terror group said that the ruling “plays with fire while crossing all red lines and is a dangerous escalation for which the leaders of the occupation shall bear the consequences.”

In an attempt to downplay the relevance of the court’s ruling, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement clarifying that no changes were planned in the status quo on the Mount, which houses the Al-Aqsa Mosque and other holy sites to Muslims.

“There is no change, nor is any change planned, on the status quo of the Temple Mount,” the statement said. “The Magistrate Court’s decision is focused exclusively on the issue of the conduct of the minors brought before it, and does not constitute a broader determination regarding freedom of worship on the Temple Mount. With regard to the specific criminal case in question, the government was informed that the state will file an appeal to the District Court.”

Although as religious Jews we not only shouldn’t pray but even just stepping foot on Har Habayis is forbidden until משיח comes, but don’t agree that so called wakf should have any say whatsoever, it’s a political& security mistake.

Lets hope and pray that this ruling wont be the result Chas Vasholem to spill Jewish blood.

In 1929 Rav Kook encouraged his followers who were a mix of secular and Frum to go to the Kosel and make the Arabs uncomfortable.

The flaming Zionist of that time screamed “Shma Yisroel Hkosel Koisleiny’.

The results of angering the Arabs IS the pogrom of 1929!

Rabbi Kaplan who was the dean of Bais Yakov in Brooklyn was a Talmid of the Chevron Yeshiva and he tells all the details how the Zionists antagonized the Arabs.
