BROOKLYN (VINnews) — Former NYC Councilman David Greenfield has posted multiple tweets calling for “sensible” gun control measures.

In response to Tuesday’s horrific massacre in an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, in which 19 elementary school children and two teachers were killed, in addition to 17 injuries, many politicians have called for stricter gun laws to prevent similar attacks.
Mr. Greenfield tweeted, “We don’t need more prayers. We need action. We need sensible gun control. Now.”

In another tweet responding to someone who called America a “great place to live”, Mr Greenfield posted:

Although Mr. Greenfield did not specify which gun control measures he supports, he appeared to suggest that the minimum age to purchase firearms should be raised to 21.
In one tweet he said: “You can’t buy a beer until you’re 21 but you can buy this assault rifle at 18? What the heck is wrong with us?”

Many politicians have called for universal background checks on all gun purchases, as well as a renewal of the ban on assault-style rifles.
I’m only commenting because I see that 13 people commented already and no one made the obvious point.
How can a frum Jew utter the words “we don’t need more prayers”?
I don’t care if the merits of his argument regarding guns is correct or not.

Mr. Greenfield stick to shlepping boxes of matza and grape juice. No one cares about the Twits that Tweet.
Agree about gun laws. We definitely need to make sensible ones. But if we forget that people kill people, not the guns, we will place the focus where it helps least.
I suggest that we make sentences for crimes committed with guns far more serious. And the prison terms cannot include all the comforts, amenities, and luxuries. No elective surgeries, no fancy foods, concerts, and the like. Prison is not be used as a resort, which it has become for many. Reinstitute the death penalty, without the state picking up the tab for limitless appeals. Violent crimes have no bail at all, and must be held for trial. Discomforts to these convicted murderers are to be allowed, and the taxpayers should not be permanently liable for these animals’ desires.
He is lying about the number of gun deaths and if you can die for your country at 18 you should be able to buy a gun also you should be able to drink at 18. What needs to be done is bring back morality to this country instead of the immoral evil spewed by his fellow democarts. Families should be celebrated not vilified. Morality should be celebrated not vilified. Children shouldn’t be indoctrinated into the immoral evil the Democrats pursue.

Why not work on root causes
We can debate the pros and cons of gun laws all day but the gun isn’t the source of the problem
Why would people want to do such horrific things and what can we do to mitigate that

there’s a black market for anything, a criminal will get it if he wants to get it. the way to stop it is to have armed guards in public places, bring back capital punishment, and throw away the liberals from office.
