Despite Maryland being a Liberal dominated state, it is permitted for congregants to carry guns in shul with permission of the shul administration. Almost every shul in Baltimore has one or more congregants carrying at all dovenings. the schools generally don’t allow staff to carry since they feel it’s better to have a professional guard since an emergency situation could jeopardize the children. I personally disagree, with the right training a teacher or a principal can defend a school just as effectively as an armed guard.
