The IDF has released a statement and video, underscoring the extraordinary efforts by the Israeli military to avoid civilian casualties during Operation Breaking Dawn.
Israeli soldiers halted an attack after a girl was identified, and only resumed after she moved away, at which point the location was shelled by armored units.
The statement said: “Upon receiving the order to fire to destroy an enemy position, we observed a little girl near the target. The tank commander immediately ceased fire. The position was destroyed after a few minutes without harming noncombatants.”
