BROOKLYN (VINnews) — Flatbush Shomrim has released video footage of a Taxi driver violently pulling a 78-year-old woman out of his vehicle and leaving her lying in a heap on the street.

The incident occurred on East 35th Street and Flatlands Avenue in Flatbush.
A bystander approached the driver when he started to leave the scene and retrieved the woman’s phone that he apparently had taken from her.
When the bystander tried to block the driver from leaving, he floored the gas pedal, seemingly with little regard for the man’s safety.
According to Flatbush Shomrim, he was hit by the vehicle and injured.
The woman, while sitting on the floor, claimed that the driver took her money and her phone.
Any info surrounding the identity of the driver should be forwarded to authorities.
At least the TLC will pull his license as he should not be transporting people regardless of whether the woman did anything wrong. The clear photo of the driver and the plate will lead to a quick suspension.

Very confusing since they have his license plate and face in the video and he clearly drives into the man recording and tries to steal her phone (both are crimes even though hell be out thanks to bail reform)

This is horrifying. Kudos to the man behind the camera who put himself at risk to defend this woman. He seems to have been thinking quickly and clearly, making sure to get a clear shot of the license plate and the driver while at the same time trying to maintain the victim’s privacy and leave her face out of the frame.
That license plate has over $8,200 in unpaid tickets. Dude should probably have his license suspended and that car impounded at this point.

Considering the video footage, I’m surprised he hasn’t been caught. Abusing a senior citizen, a hit and run, stealing…. Oh and what happened to women’s rights? The lady, regardless of her age, seems like a privileged white Karen snowflake. She probably threatened the driver that she was going to call the police on him because the ac was too cold. He told her to get out. She refused. The driver had to do what he had to do and dragged her out of his PRIVATE PROPERTY. I wouldn’t rush to judgement just because some idiot with a smartphone thought he was going to get his sanctimonious 15 minutes of viral fame.
