JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The Gur chasidic court celebrated Monday the wedding of the granddaughter of the Rebbe, daughter of his son Rabbi Yisrael Menachem Alter, to the son of Rabbi Hershel Plotchnik. The huge wedding was attended by an estimated 60,000 people who filled the entire street adjacent to the Gur Beis Midrash where the wedding took place.

The Rebbe was Mesader Kiddushin, Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau read the Kesubah and the Admor of Boyan, Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef and Rabbi Yitzchok Zilberstein said Brachos at the Chupa.

Our obsession with the crowd size as if a Tzadik’s lever is evaluated by the size of the crowd, hurts us all.
IF Rebbes are mere celebrities’ in the Kardashian sense = being famous just for being famous in a circular fashion then it all makes sense but we are not like goyim, for use size should not matter, our celebrities should not be like theirs, just fame and powers and money for its own sake.
Our Rebbes should be evaluated on their Gadlus ba’Torah, their leadership skills, ethics, Kedusha, their Middos, rwillingness to give their time and money to help Yidden, their Vatrunis, their Emunah – that is them knowing that nobody can take away from them what is Ba’shert for them so no need for Machlokos, no need to run to courts, no need kidnap children for their parents no need for terror campaigns, no need to call their own mother to court, no need to burn houses and people
We will get such Rebbes once we focus on these thing and stop focusing on money, power and crowd size.
Until then we get what we deserve

I get much more hsipolaus and respect someone when I see a video of a tzadik be manchim avel a family of yesomim who went thru triple loses like the Gluestiens who are strangers and not one of the that tzadiks chasdim, yet he comes and offers his heart and soul crying with the yesomim. Thats a true rebbe , one who feels for others.
