“In Sunday’s article, The New York Times went to great lengths to string together a series of disgruntled former Yeshiva students and anonymous sources in order to attack the Hasidic community and its traditions.
Notably, the paper hasn’t run similar exposés on other schools who also accept taxpayer money for mandated services. Instead, a liberal paper focused on a traditional Jewish community with a conservative voting pattern.
For The New York Times, that is sadly par for the course. I have personally toured many Yeshivas and spoken with countless students. I found them intelligent, engaging, and inquisitive. Much of the press and many politicians who regularly display antisemitic tendencies are on a mission to undermine and malign the Hasidic community.
I find their tactics reprehensible and their thinly veiled antisemitism appalling. “At my core, I believe all parents have the right to choose the educational setting they think is best for their children, and in the state Senate I have fought to ensure parents have a say in their children’s education, in whatever setting they determine is best.”
He nailed it.
disgruntled former students.
and obviously good old reliable “anonymous sources”. what would a nyt article be without a few irrefutable and impossible to verify anonymous sources?
sorry to say but I am a Yeshiva Graduate of High School, took NYState Regents, got great marks (i.e. 98 & 97) – got a great job on Wall Street – worked my way up to Director of many big firms/banks on Wall Street – ALL WITH ONLY YESHIVA HIGH SCHOOL……………………………so these are FACTS not disgruntled students stories
Kudos to the Senator!
The Times could care less about their sources.
this chasid be’umos ha’olam should be praised for standing up to the horrific anti-semitic article in the times where they regurgitated old anti-semitic stereotypes that the wicked mosters have been saying for years
i have yet to hear ANYTHING from the chevra that FJCC endorses like kevin parker, rodney bichotte and helene weinstein but remember as long as the $$$ flows thats all that matters.
Did he say anything in the story was factually wrong?
Just say “liberal” blah blah blah and the lemmings go wild. No thought, no analysis, no conversation about the issue. Is that what they teach in cheder? Yes, build a wall around your brain. Don’t let anything enter.
