JERUSALEM (VINnews) — A new book by the New York Times White House correspondent Peter Baker reveals a startling offer made by former President Trump to Jordan’s King Abdullah II: control of Judea and Samaria, a region which Jordan voluntarily forfeited in 1988 and whose Palestinian population had long sought to topple the monarchy.

Prior to unveiling his peace plan for the region, Trump offered Abdullah what he considered a “great deal”- ruling over the region of Judea and Samaria, presumably in a confederation with Israel.

According to the new book, entitled “The Divider: Trump in the White House 2017-2021”, Abdullah told an American friend in 2018 that when he heard the proposal “I thought I was having a heart attack. I couldn’t breathe. I was bent doubled-over.”

Baker wrote the book with his wife, journalist Susan Glasser and the pair say their book is based on reporting as well as “as well as about 300 original interviews conducted exclusively for this book.” They added: “We obtained private diaries, memos, contemporaneous notes, emails, text messages, and other documents that shed new light on Trump’s time in office.”

The two also conducted two personal interviews with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

The offer to Abdullah of Judea and Samaria — which is bordered by Israel and Jordan, and which Trump had no control over — came in January 2018. Trump thought he would be doing the Jordanian king a favor, not realizing that it would destabilize his country, according to the book.

Later, Trump began to comprehend the political situation in the region and unveiled his peace plan, which included Palestinian enclaves and a capital outside Jerusalem and Israeli sovereignty over the other areas in Judea and Samaria. The plan was rejected by both sides, with the Israelis unsure about security assurances and the Palestinians unwilling to relinquish their rights to the entire region of Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem.

Its time for the GOP to return to its conservative roots and move far away from this dangerous lunatic and his populist MAGA rabble-rousers.

Ok, therefore what?
Did he give it to them? No.
Did he backstab Israel? No.
Did he recognize Jerusalem as the capital? Yes.
So someone wrote a book, and wants sales, so they put some random piece of info, which could be true, or not, so they could make a few extra sales.
Yippee

If never ceases to amaze me how clueless Trump is about geopolitics.
Almost as bad as when he threatened to bomb Iranian heritage sites until his advisors talked him out of that ridiculous idea.

The offer was made so the king could say you crazy. Who wants them. They nearly destroyed my country. That’s when Abraham accords were rolled out. Trump made an offer he knew they’d all need to Refuse
As for this claim been made before by trump haters as a way to bolster incompetent Biden

Why do people get away with making ridiculous unsubstantiated claims?? I do not believe in a million years Trump would ever say that (and no, I’m not “maga republican” – I’m a DeSantis fan)

Where did you lift this story from? Honestly!

its genius since it would nip in the bud the whole soros backed NWO 2 state solution of creating a new false so called Palestinian people and would allow Jews living in so called settlements to live in Israel as long as the zionists leadership wouldnt betray them which they always do.
