WASHINGTON DC (Yaakov M / VINnews) — Vice President Kamala Harris has been slammed on social media, after saying that the distribution of government aid to Hurricane Ian victims will be based on race.

“It is our lowest income communities and our communities of color that are most impacted by these extreme conditions and impacted by issues that are not of their own making,” Harris claimed. “And so we have to address this in a way that is about giving resources based on equity, understanding that we fight for equality, but we also need to fight for equity, understanding not everyone starts out at the same place.”

Her racist comments have (correctly) been met with intense backlash on social media.

Elon Musk tweeted “Should be according to greatest need, not race or anything else.”

Christina Pushaw, the Rapid Response Directorfor Governor Ron DeSantis, tweeted: “This is false. @VP ‘s rhetoric is causing undue panic and must be clarified. FEMA Individual Assistance is already available to all Floridians impacted by Hurricane Ian, regardless of race or background.”

Political commentator Ken Gardner tweeted: “This has to violate at least a dozen federal and state anti-discrimination laws.”

Many others blasted Harris’ racist comments as well.

Harris made the remarks during a discussion with leftist Priyanka Chopra at the Democratic National Committee’s Women’s Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C.

If this will bring racial justice then it is worth it. We must end systemic racism. All whites are evil supremacists. Whites deserve what they got because of this hurricane, but not blacks.

It’s not even up to her. Federal aid funds are still allocated by the state government. She is so far over her head.

It is not racist to call out that historically people of color have been harmed most by things like hurricanes. Do all of you have SUCH amnesia that you forget Katrina? I guarantee that if you lived in New Orleans you don’t.
