BROOKLYN (VINnews) — Brooklyn College, which has been embroiled in controversy over antisemitism and discrimination against Jews, has scheduled a “bias training” course on Yom Kippur.

The training is required for faculty members who serve on job search committees. One of the four Zoom training sessions is scheduled for the morning of Yom Kippur.
The CUNY school recently got a failing grade from the group StopAntisemitism, who said “Students feel the administration turns a blind eye to Jew-hatred” and they “DO NOT feel safe, saying they need to hide their Jewish identity as well as their support for Israel.”
In addition, a complaint was recently filed with the federal government claiming that CUNY has become a “pervasively hostile environment for Jewish students.”
The NY Post quoted a Jewish professor regarding the bias training who said: “This biases the process against observant Jews and secular Jews who typically attend services on this one day of the year. Such Jews are afforded only three meeting opportunities, while all others are afforded four. That sounds like implicit bias to me. Imagine, if that was done to a group that is viewed as a disadvantaged minority.”
A school spokesman said an additional training session was being offered on Monday.
Soooooo….. it’s not mandatory to attend THIS session. Just A session, and there are 3 alternative dates.
This is ridiculous fake outrage. They’re offering a training on a choice of 4 days, one of which is yom Kippur. Who cares – there are three other options.
Brooklyn College is apparently a cesspool, full of extremism and anti semitism. However this headline falsely implies that the only training day is YK.
Read the article, and see that there are four days offered as options. So there are three other choices for Jewish staff. The reason multiple days are offered is likely so that everyone can choose one day that works for them.
Bad optics? Yes. Insensitive? Yes. But not, as this headline implies, that the one mandatory day for the training is exclusively Yom Kippur.
SO they offer 3 other sessions not on Yom Kippur. Why is this even an issue? Are you saying they have to shut down everything because it’s yom kippur? Maybe the MTA should also shut down all busses and subways.
Brooklyn College has been a major source of anti-Semitism for many years, despite the many yidden who attend and even teach there.
Additional on Monday? As on the first day of sukkos?
Now you won’t need to attend these bitulei zman sessions.
Seriously? The MCAT was given on Shabbos, so I took it on Monday. BFD!
Brooklyn College has become a hot bed of anti semtisem free Brooklyn College!
more woke anti semitism. why is woke so many times synonymous with jew hatred?
