NEW YORK (VINnews) — Although Lee Zeldin fell short on Election Day, his support among Jews had a huge impact on other races in the state.

Several Republican candidates defeated high-profile Democrats, especially in orthodox Jewish communities. In fact, as control of the House comes down to the wire, Mike Lawler’s stunning upset victory in Rockland may enable Republicans to become the majority.

It appears that the passionate endorsements of Zeldin by orthodox leaders, which brought an overwhelming turnout, helped Republicans pull off a series of stunning upsets.

New York politicians have long courted the Orthodox Jewish vote in Brooklyn and Orange and Rockland counties. On Tuesday, the community proved its strength.

Democrats in Brooklyn and the Hudson Valley were defeated, largely due to the Jewish vote, including longtime Assemblymembers Steven Cymbrowitz and Peter Abbate

It appears that once Jews were voting for Zeldin, they stuck with GOP candidates down-ballot.

“I think there was a lot of that,” David Lobl, Governor Cuomo’s former top Jewish affairs liaison, told NY1 News. “People took their frustration out, and they went with Zeldin, and then they just went down the ballot.”

Jewish communities in the Hudson Valley may have been the difference in the shocking upset of Sean Patrick Maloney, DCCC Chairman, whose opponent, Lawler, joined Zeldin in visits to the community.

The Jewish vote may have also helped topple Rockland County state Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick and longtime Brooklyn Assemblymembers Steven Cymbrowitz and Peter Abbate.

Abbate lost to Republican Lester Chang, who said of the Orthodox community: “They are angry, they are livid, how the state tried to run the yeshiva according to standards.”

The community turned out in droves Tuesday, with turnout topping 50% in some areas of Borough Park.

Abbate Jr, a Democrat first elected in 1986, appeared to lose his district — which includes Bensonhurst and Borough Park — by about 600 votes.

Cymbrowitz, first elected in 2000, lost to Republican Michael Novakhov by more than 4,000 votes in a district that includes part of southern Brooklyn, including Brighton Beach.

The Asian vote played a giant role, esp. in races like the Abbate one. Asians have reacted vehemently to being victimized by vicious, repeat criminals, who were treated with kid gloves by the ultra-liberal NY criminal justice system (including the bail reform fiasco), and shown the door to the Democrats.

I voted against Cymbrowitz because he supported all kinds of hashchasa bills. He supported both legalizing gay marriage and abortion on demand. A real lowlife frie yid.

You’ve changed nothing.
And everybody else will reap what the democrats have sown.. Particularly the Jewish community.. Especially now that anti-Semitism and Jewish hatred is being normalized by the media politicians and Celebrities and entertainer.

Such nonsense, I’m still waiting for one honest frum pundit to acknowledge they were wrong. Such chutzpah. If Zeldin would have won, you would have been touting your unbelievable keen Insights for years to come. Hahahaha.

Its good to have Republicans in our areas. We need evangelical Christian nationalists, election denyers and trumpoids in office!
