NEW YORK (VINnews) — Comedian Dave Chappelle, whose controversial SNL monologue on SNL has been called out for “desensitizing” Americans to anti-semitism, apparently did not rehearse the monologue beforehand with SNL producers.

Sources close to the producers said that Chappelle had provided a fake monologue in order to bypass possible criticism from the show’s staff for his anti-semitic tropes. They added that some staff writers were so furious that the comedy superstar — who’s made transphobic and homophobic jokes in his past comedy shows — was chosen to host that they were sitting out the episode.

A source told Page Six that: “Dave does a fake monologue during the dress rehearsal, because he doesn’t want [‘SNL’ creator] Lorne Michaels, or anyone else, to know what his real monologue is.”

Chappelle opened his live show by saying “I denounce anti-semitism in all its forms, and I stand with my friends in the Jewish community,” but this was apparently a caveat intended to give Chappelle free rein to expound his real views.

“I learned that there are two words in the English language that you should never say together in sequence. And those words are ‘the’ and ‘Jews,” joked Chappelle, before noting that everything was a game of “perception.”

“If they’re black, it’s a gang. If they’re Italian, it’s a mob. If they’re Jewish, it’s a coincidence and you should neeeever speak about it,” said Chappelle.

In a seemingly oblique reference to anti-semitic claims of Jewish control, Chappelle alluded to the significant Jewish presence in Hollywood.

“I’ve been to Hollywood…this is just what I saw, it’s a lot of Jews, like a lot,” Chappelle added. “But that doesn’t mean anything, there’s a lot of black people in Ferguson, Missouri, doesn’t mean they run the place.”

Suggesting that “it’s not a crazy thing to think” that Jews run showbusiness, Chappelle joked, “But it’s a crazy thing to say out loud in a climate like this.”

Chappelle was later blasted by the Anti-Defamation League for “popularizing” anti-Semitism with his jokes.

“Dave Chappelle’s SNL skit was a meticulous & calculated move to desensitize the population from anti-semitism, getting society to laugh at Jewish traumas/struggles, and normalizing historic tropes by manipulating the average person’s pain and redirecting their reactions onto Jews,” asserted Rudy Rochman, a Jewish-Israeli rights activist.

Time Out New York theater editor Adam Feldman argued, “That Dave Chappelle SNL monologue probably did more to normalize anti-Semitism than anything Kanye [West] said.”

Replace the word Jews with blacks, have Roseanne Barr or Adam Sandler give the same speech and see how the world reacts.

The more we Jews do for minorities the more they hate us. It’s time that we start to support and protect our own

Hey, Dave Chappelle. How did YOU get into Hollywood?
When “The Jews” first went to Hollywood all the doors were slammed in their Jewish faces. AND in the faces of Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Hindus, Arabs, including White women and men, who couldn’t stomach submitting to the Hollywood-Master’s “couch.”
And So. How did “The Jews”-in-those-days deal with it?
They challenged “The Establishment” with start-up studios that produced films about Social Justice. And they opened the doors to people who look like Dave Chappelle.
Maybe that’s why in the places you’ve been to in Hollywood these days you see “a lot of Jews,” Mister Chappelle?
