NEW YORK (VINnews) — Three of Donald Trump’s wealthiest supporters have deserted him in the last two days as the former president seeks to jumpstart his 2024 presidential bid.

Ronald Lauder, the heir to the Estée Lauder fortune and a friend of Trump since college, said he will not be backing the ex-president’s 2024 White House bid. Lauder had been a prominent supporter of Trump’s previous presidential campaigns and recently supported Lee Zeldin in the NY governor’s race.
Axios reported Wednesday morning that another prominent Republican megadonor, Stephen Schwarzman, was also quitting his support for Trump.
‘America does better when its leaders are rooted in today and tomorrow, not today and yesterday,’ Schwarzman, the head of Blackstone Group, told Axios after Trump announced his intentions to run again Tuesday night at Mar-a-Lago.
‘It is time for the Republican Party to turn to a new generation of leaders and I intend to support one of them in the presidential primaries,’ Schwarzman said.
A third major donor, Citadel’s Ken Griffin, also announced that he would not be backing Trump. Griffin said Tuesday at a Bloomberg forum he would be backing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, should he run.
Griffin referred to Trump as a ‘three-time loser,’ which was similar to the term used by former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to describe the ex-president’s record when he lambasted him at an Orlando conference for Republican governors Tuesday afternoon – just hours before Trump’s speech.
Christie told a crowd, also according to Axios, that Trump was responsible not just for the ‘red wave’ never materializing in 2022, but losses in 2020 and 2018 as well.
The criticism followed an announcement by Trump’s daughter Ivanka that she would not be involved in her father’s presidential bid.
The former White House advisor said that ‘I love my father very much. This time around, I’m choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena.’
Trump lost both the popular vote and electoral college in 2020. He’s even less popular now, having lost some of his staunchest supporters and backers. Unless he can somehow get Democrats to cross the aisle and Independents, how does he expect to win?
I will not support the losing buffoon this time so he can’t count on my contribution.
No matter.
Trump will get PLENTY of backing from billionaire democrats.
Best investment they could make in ensuring a Democratic Party win in 2024.
This is terrible. Trump should resign immediately.
As President Trump is a billionaire, there is no obvious reason why anyone ought to send him money.
Did you say Christie ? The Obama bear hugging bridge player ? The beach bully ? The egotist and narcissist who only talked about himself at the Romney convention ? The guy with the L speech impediment who drew five old ladies when he r-r-ran for president ??
Shove it , waste it on others , pour it down the drain. The price for ignoring the election fraud and shutting down investigation into it , then besmirching millions with “election deniers ” will come back to bite you. No Republican will be president because the criminals will do it again and again.
Lauder also hates Bibi and went public and ballistic about him and pushed for a 2 state solution to push Israel back to the ’67 borders.
Memo to you fat cats :
You’ll need to throw ALL your then. Because millions of us MAGA are NOT donating to the RNC anymore. They’re in cahoots with Democrats all the way. Our dollars will only go to Trump come what may.
