UN Calls On International Court Of Justice To Investigate Israel, Netanyahu Slams ‘Disgraceful Resolution’

NEW YORK (VINnews) — In yet another anti-Israel decision taken by the UN, the General Assembly approved Friday a resolution calling on the International Court of Justice (ICJ)  to intervene on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Israeli “annexation” and the “legal status of the occupation.”

The resolution, which was promoted by the Palestinians, passed by a vote of 87 in favor, 26 against, with 53 abstentions.

The resolution, titled “Israeli practices and settlement activities affecting the rights of the Palestinian people and other Arabs of the occupied territories”, calls on the  ICJ to “render urgently an advisory opinion” on Israel’s “prolonged occupation, settlement and annexation of Palestinian territory.”

It also calls for an investigation into Israeli measures “aimed at altering the demographic composition, character and status of the Holy City of Jerusalem” and says Israel has adopted “discriminatory legislation and measures.”

The resolution demands the court weigh in on the conflict in accordance with international law and the UN charter.

The ICJ, also known as the world court, is the top UN court for mediating disputes between countries. Its rulings are binding and influence public opinion but it has no mechanism for enforcement. The court is separate from the International Criminal Court, which is also in The Hague.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded Saturday night to the UN resolution, terming it “disgraceful”.

“Just like the hundreds of distorted UN General Assembly resolutions against Israel over the years, today’s disgraceful resolution will not obligate the Government of Israel..” Nteanyahu said. “The Jewish people is not occupying its land and is not occupying its eternal capital Jerusalem. No UN resolution can distort this historical truth.”

Netanyahu added that Israel’s diplomatic efforts had changed the votes of a number of countries in the UN. He said that in the November anti-Israel resolution, a majority of the 193 members of the international body voted against Israel, whereas in the current vote 11 countries changed their votes and there was no absolute majority voting against Israel.

Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, did not appear at the Friday evening vote because it was after Shabbat had entered.

Prior to the vote, Erdan said Friday that “The outrageous resolution calling for the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice is a moral stain on the UN and every country that supports it. No international body can decide that the Jewish people are ‘occupiers’ in their own homeland. Any decision from a judicial body which receives its mandate from the morally bankrupt and politicized UN is completely illegitimate.”

“The Palestinians have rejected every peace initiative, while supporting and inciting terror. Instead of pushing the Palestinians to change, the UN is doing the opposite: helping them to harm the only vibrant democracy in the Middle East which recently signed 4 peace agreements with Arab countries. We will not take part in this disgraceful show of lies,” he added.

Ambassador Erdan continued, “The decision to hold a vote that deals with Israel on Shabbat is another example of the moral decay of the UN, which prevents Israel’s position from being heard in a vote whose results are predetermined.”

So with everything going on in the world, the UN focuses on Israel? How about all those protesters killed in Iran? Guess nobody cares about Arab on Arab violence.

The UN has nary a comment on the Russian attack against a sovereign nation and decimation of its people, its land and infrastructure yet this crooked UNorganization has contempt for law abiding countries. Not a word about bus stop bombings only resolutions of distortion and hate. The US should kick them out of our country.

Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Joe Biden and other low-life Democrats in Congress and the senate, including Jewish ones of course, are the ones behind this. They didn’t want everyone to know, for political reasons of course, so they demanded that the UN do the dirty work while the US is pulling the strings behind the scenes. The treatment of Netanyahu and Trump by the left are one and the same. SNAKES! Every last one of them.

This also sheds light on the UN’s nefarious plans (mostly via the W.H.O.) to create international ‘vaccine mandates’!
