The attack happened in Jerusalem’s Neve Yaakov neighborhood.

Police say the terrorist arrived by car at a building used as a synagogue, and opened fire on the congregants.

Police arrived at the scene and shot the terrorist once they located him. A handgun used by the terrorist was recovered on the scene.

Magen David Adom medics declared five victims dead at the scene, while another three wounded victims were transported to Hadassah Mount Scopus hospital.

Of the three wounded victims, a woman in her 70s was listed in critical condition, a 20-year-old man was listed in serious condition, and a 14-year-old boy was listed in moderate-serious condition.

Neve Yaakov is home to Yeshiva Bais Yisroel and Yeshiva Lev Aryeh, two well known Yeshivos with large American student bodies.
