It was probably because he could not find another place to Daven Mincha that could afford him an atmosphere where people would not find him strange. Either that or the other possible venue had a tznius problem. Regardless, the Muslims found it a beautiful thing. The video was posted by Nouri Sardar on Twitter and apparently, the man had asked them permission.

According to Rambam, a mosque is not considered a place of avodah zarah, and one is permitted to enter
Hatred of terrorists makes sense. Hatred of thought-full Muslims in America who may be good people isxa Chilul HaShem.
It’s pretty wild how he did that. But you know what if they let him in and he makes a kiddush Hashem then why not.
I cannot praise the Jew who prayed in a mosque.
[1] Some authorities rule that a mosque is a place of idolatry, which makes going there prohibited by Torah law.
[2] Torah law prohibits going to dangerous places.
A Jew could get beaten or killed, if he goes to a mosque.
[3] If Jews go to mosques to pray, then Muslims may attempt to pray in our synagogues.
[4] Muslims may conclude that a Jew who prays in a mosque believes their religion. This a Chillul HaShem.
Better options include:
a local park, a library, the lobby of a large hotel, parking lot, etc.
Why is he Davening on the women’s side ?
who says this was a formal mosque? maybe it was just temporary set up in a conf center or an airport hallway to accom an islamic service of some kind?nothing in the video indicates where this space is
First, this video is at least 3 months old. Secondly, why would you think it’s not staged? The hat is definitely not one you’ll find in Lakewood… Top of crown looks too round… #JustSaying
I daven in a public prayer place in an airport in Europe. I forget exactly where.
But as I was davening, a group of Arabs came in and did their bowing and prayer thing. There was no problem with me and them together.
Also before the intifada, I visited mosques in Israel and never had a problem. But since the antifada, I stay away.
I once davened netz with a bunch of Arabs in an airport chapel in South Korea. They were davening toward the beautiful mizrach wall. I wanted to ask them why they weren’t davening with me toward the west. But alas, they didn’t speak English.
Forget about the guy davening, the Darshan is pretty good.
Not impressed, I’m sure he could have found a different venue to daven in.
Is this muttar? can someone post a clear source in either direction, (not the “Rambam says”, like the siman and se’if)
Very strange. To say the least
Where is he? How about some context? In an airport? Where is he that he couldn’t find a quite spot anywhere else but there? How about some journalism?
Rabbi Rafael Abraham HaCohen Soae said:
“One is NOT allowed to enter any site in which a non-Jewish religious or mystical activity of any nature takes place.”

Nobody is even looking at him, strange.
This looks clearly faked. No way a Yid would need to go to a mosque to daven a 5 minute mincha. Please. Vin you need to be a bit smarter than this.
I actually think the video is staged, the hat brim doesn’t right.
Probably one of those prankster You tube people looking to test out what happens if they do this.
