WATCH: Joe Rogan Slammed for Defending Ilhan Omar’s Antisemitic Remarks, Saying Jews Are ‘Into Money’

31

CALIFORNIA (VINnews) — Popular podcaster Joe Rogan has been blasted after he said that Jewish people are “into money” on his most recent episode. He also seemed to validate Ilhan Omar’s anti-Jewish comments, saying it was not antisemitic for Omar to link Jews and money, and adding “many people have that opinion and should be represented.”

In addition, one of Rogan’s guests agreed with him and went further, saying that Omar should not have apologized.

Rogan was interviewing Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti on his Spotify show and they discussed Nancy Pelosi’s endorsement of Adam Schiff for Senate.

“It’s crazy,” said Rogan. “Did you see him sitting next to Ilhan Omar, where she’s apologizing for talking about it’s all about the Benjamins? Which is just about money. She’s talking about money. That’s not an antisemitic comment, I don’t think that is. Benjamins are money.”

He went on: “The idea that Jewish people are not into money is ridiculous. That’s like saying Italians aren’t into pizza. It’s…stupid.”

Rogan said about Omar: “Whether you agree with her or not, she has a bold opinion, and that opinion is not her own. There’s many people that have that opinion, and they should be represented.

In response, comedian David Baddiel blasted Rogan’s matter-of-fact spreading and endorsement of heinous textbook antisemitism.

Sharing a clip on Twitter, the author of Jews Don’t Count, wrote: “I actually want to stop banging the Jews Don’t Count drum at some point but hard to do when a racist myth about Jews is just…said, breezily, on one of the biggest podcasts in the world…”

He continued: “For the hard of understanding, ‘Jews are into money’ is not like ‘Italians are into pizza. Because unless my history lessons really missed something out, no-one has exterminated a large section of the entire Italian community because of their love for pepperoni.”

“This is what Joe is saying, with a big grin,” Baddiel added as he shared a cartoon trope from the antisemitic Nazi propaganda children’s book Der Giftpilz.

Baddiel continued, “Also, Joe Rogan has a 200 Million dollar deal with Spotify. And yet apparently it’s Jews who are into money.”

Joe Rogan and his guest completely missed the point. Yes Jews are into money. So is everyone else.
Omar was insinuating that Jews use their money to influence politics.
Thats what was antisemitic about what she said.
I don’t see how no one is picking up on that error unless I’m missing something.

When schools and kehilos are the 1st to jump onto the inflation excuse to raise everything from tuition to camp, to shul membership, to mikva, matzos etce etc and it never goes back down, we have no choice.

Yes, we are into our Money, we have no choice, there are some unchecked powers that is corrupting us all. We have no choice we need to get that money by hook or ‘crook’.

They always point to that nameless indvidual (who doesnt exist) that goes on vacation and drives a Lexus but is not paying tuition.

They are getting bolder and bolder, they need prime location real estate with wedding halls, wehave no choice.

The charity campaigns are out of control and they force it on to the students.

Joe Rogan will literally have almost anybody on especially if they are controversial. As long as he does not dislike them personally like trump. He’s had on Ben Shapiro on. They agreed on something and disagreed on a lot of things. He’s also had the vicious anti-semite “Rodger Waters: ex lead singer of the group “Pink Floyd” who declared Israel and apartheid racist state that does not deserve to exist. Joe rogan is podcaster like many others. You couldn’t give a rat’s butt about the Jewish people or anybody else as long as he gets his paycheck. Because in the end he’s just a money hungry gentile. Who blames the Jews for striving to get money.

I’m not going on to this clickbait to see who said what because I really don’t care.

You know something, it’s time to fight this and say, yes it is about money. We have to spend a lot more money than the average Shaygitz when it comes to food and when it comes to education for our children. They send their kids to public school and it doesn’t cost them a  #$& penny. We send our kids to Yeshiva and we have to pay tuition, some more and some less, but we’re paying tuition. It cost money and therefore we are concerned about money. We want to try to save money wherever we can because we know we have to invest the money that we save into our spiritual lives as well as into our children.

If there’s a goy out there who doesn’t like this or a Jew who doesn’t like this, I would suggest you check your ancestry, then two darn bad on you!

Almost every frum rabbi’s drasha I attend makes the explicit point that on a whole the velt is too much into money. Even that when King Solomon took away the desire for idol worship, he had to put something in its stead, which was desire for money.

We are into money though. We honor rich philanthropists all the time and celebrate their successes. Ever see a building dedicated to someone so poor they could barely eat? Me neither. How have we all of a sudden adopted the Xstian idea that wealth is somehow “sinful”?

Making denigrating generalizations is racist/anti-Semitic.

This one is even more obvious, since it could said that everyone is “about the Benjamin’s” yet here it is not only being used exclusively about Jews but with a negative connotation.

The very fact that it can be said about any people, but is said about Jews, casts it as possibly the most slanted of probably any anti-Semitic tropes.

At face value, there is nothing wrong with what he said and, as he said, the quote is not even an insult.

Being “into” something denotes a focus on and perhaps dedication to that something.

There’s nothing wrong with being into money.

I find it so comical when people say that Jews are into money, as if other people are not into money like Jeff bezos from Amazon or Steve Jobs from Apple or all the other non Jewish people that founded multi-billion dollar companies, I haven’t bumped into any non-jewish people that don’t like money, or don’t enjoy a good sale.

3 million dollar houses, Pesach programs in Europe and South America, midwinter break in FL or some other $15k vacation, $4k sheitels, $100k weddings, $25k bar mitzvahs, $100k cars, flying private, elective plastic surgeries, nannies and housekeepers, collecting HUDD and WIC and SNAP while owning three houses and five cars, many arrests of rosh mosdos for financial improprieties in the past 20 years ( I know, I know it’s because of antisemitism and none of them ever did anything wrong just like Rubashkin was a tzadik yesod olam who never ever did anything wrong and the whole government in the Midwest conspired to get him because they hate frum people)…. and this is by the frum, So it is really hard to figure out where this sheygetz gets this crazy idea that Jews are into money This sheygetz mostly knows the secular Jews with their yachts and even bigger mansions in CA, who paid him 50k to make an appearance at their step kid’s bat mitzvah. If all Jews were living in 1 or 2 bedroom apartments and were giving their mayser money and donating their time and living pas bemelech like they did Meah Shearim 100 years ago there is the slight possibility that this goy might not be articulating what a whole bunch of goyim have asked/told me over the years about Jews and money- usually after they were talked down to and mistreated by wealthy yidden- who dressed like yidden and looked like yidden but definitely didn’t act in the manner that a prince should behave- banim atam…
