ISRAEL (VINnews) — The Jerusalem Post has been slammed by Jewish leaders for essentially reporting fake news.

Multiple Twitter users expressed outrage after the paper used a headline which suggested that a non-Jewish alleged serial pedophile is a Charedi Jew.

In truth, the Texas man merely posed as a religious Jew as part of a deranged scheme to adopt and molest children.

Rabbi Yaakov Menken, Managing Director of the Coalition for Jewish Values, said “the most generous possible reading is that JPost reporters are incompetent…The alternatives are worse.”

The original Post headline read: “NY Haredi man accused of…abusing his nine sons.”

After social media backlash, the Post revised its headline to “NY man posing as haredi accused of…abusing his nine adopted sons”. However nowhere does the article mention that the man is not even a Jew.

Before the headline was revised, Rabbi Menken initially tweeted: “100% bogus headline from the @Jerusalem_Post.. The man in question is not Jewish and POSED as an Orthodox Jew to dupe secular authorities. Why did JPost run this with an objectively false headline? The answer is sadly obvious.”

One member of the Crown Heights community posted several other more accurate headlines from other outlets and tweeted: “I wonder why @Jerusalem_Post @WallaNews couldn’t write a headline like any of these other news sites ? Did the word ‘Haredi’ get them so giddy with excitement to the point that basic journalistic standards disappeared?”

Other media outlets also distorted the facts or omitted key details which could lead readers to believe the alleged sociopath is in fact a Jew.

Luke Tress, Editor at “Times of Israel”, called out two UK news outlets, the Mirror and Daily Mail, both of which omitted the fact that the predator is not Jewish.

Jeffrey Vejil should suffer ‘The Death Penalty’ according to the oldest civilized laws known to mankind, ‘The Seven Noahide Laws.’

Sorry, but he could have easily converted. Doesn’t matter what denomination he is, he is a sick paedophile which is the important part. Hope the kids are being looked after properly. He has 4300 friends on Facebook, he was accused of molesting a kid 4 years ago, his payos were growing in the wrong place, and not one person from his friends or the government questioned why and how a single dubious male in a wheelchair and on oxygen could adopt and look after 9 children. Truly pathetic apathy and lack of interest in others. No empathy.

Jerusalem Post is not a respected publication. Not the first time they published false or misleading information.

Hahaha. VIN posts and even highlights a story about another publication changing its misleading headline, where it has long been VIN’s policy not to change its misleading headlines. Indeed, VIN won’t even publish comments critical of its editorial policy. What are you afraid of, VIN?

for anyone who does NOT know, the Jpost is extremely anti religious. It pushes its woke liberal values and love putting up nasty articles about religious.
So we noticed that they also put this up as if this fellow was a Jew and a Chasid. Which most readers pointed out was not the case.

What difference does it make if he is Jewish or not? He did something evil. That’s all.

In Texas child protection funds, adoption and social work funds cut dramatically. So this is what happens. Very Sad.

The severe reaction of our community really is just revealing that we haven’t yet come all the way to admitting and dealing with the pedophile issue within our own community. We have one and we should be honest and open about it. JPost happened to call us out on the wrong story and true this particular story’s reported should be fixed to be truthful and accurate. But, the underlying story of pedophiles in our community should not be silenced or hidden. The severe reaction is an emotional one playing on our emotions that we don’t want our true story out there even if doing so means the winners will be the victims albeit at the expense of our communal shame.
