JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Lt. Nadav Weinberg was an off-duty soldier when he was attacked by a 13-year-old terrorist in the City of David on a Shabbat morning last month just a day after the murderous attack in Neve Yaakov. Despite being shot in the stomach a number of times, Weinberg, who had his weapon with him, succeeded in returning fire and injuring the terrorist, thus saving other Jews walking around him when the terrorist opened fire.
Weinberg was in serious condition for a long period and after numerous operations and medical procedures he is recovering slowly from his wounds. On Purim Weinberg’s paratrooper unit held their swearing-in ceremony at the Western Wall. For the first time since the terrorist attack, Weinberg donned his uniform and joined his friends for the occasion, receiving cheers from them as he slowly walked to the Kotel to join the ceremony and then hear the Megilla together with his unit.
