JERUSALEM (VINnews) — IDF troops came under fire from Palestinian terrorists in Northern Samaria early Sunday morning. The terrorists shot at a military post west of Shechem. The soldiers returned fire, killing three of the terrorists. A fourth terrorist surrendered to the troops and was taken for interrogation by security forces. There were no casualties among the troops, who were members of the Golani brigade’s reconnaisance unit.

No terrorist group has taken responsibility for the attack and the identity of the attackers or their affiliation with groups has not yet been published.
The soldiers seized three M-16 rifles, a handgun and magazines held by the attackers.

The attack was one of a number of altercations during a stormy weekend after the Dizengoff attack which left three people injured. [The condition of the injured persons has improved over the weekend, but one is still in very serious condition]. On Thursday night an explosive device was placed on a Betar Illit bus by a terrorist who alighted from the bus and attempted to remotely activate it. The device did not detonate and the terrorist, a resident of the nearby village of Batir, was apprehended by security forces over the weekend.
On Friday a youth was shot dead after hurling petrol bombs at IDF forces in Samaria. On the same day a terrorist attempted to infiltrate a farm outpost south of Ariel and was eliminated.
