NEW YORK (VINnews) — A letter has surfaced, allegedly written by Trump attorney Michael Cohen, saying that he was not reimbursed by Donald Trump or his organization for hush money payments to Stephanie Clifford.

The bombshell letter, allegedly written to federal authorities in 2018, which was obtained by the news outlet DailyMail, would deal a massive blow to the case being built by NYC prosecutors against the former president.

It would also contradict Cohen’s recent grand jury testimony against Trump.

If authentic, the ‘smoking gun’ letter would be damning to Cohen as well as DA Alvin Bragg’s looming charges against Trump. Cohen himself was in massive legal trouble at the time, and there’s been speculation that he turned against Trump and cooperated with prosecutors simply to save himself from decades in prison.

Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer and the star witness, now claims that Trump asked him to pay $130,000 to Clifford in exchange for her secrecy, days before the 2016 election.

In 2019, Cohen claimed that Trump asked him to pay from his own account, and then reimbursed him with personal funds, and he reaffirmed that narrative recently to the Grand Jury

But in the February, 2018 letter to the Federal Election Commission, Cohen’s attorney Stephen Ryan wrote: ‘Mr. Cohen used his own personal funds’, and that ‘Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed Mr. Cohen for the payment directly or indirectly.’

The letter also said, “Contrary to the allegations in the complaint, which are entirely speculative, neither Mr. Cohen nor Essential Consultants LLC made any in-kind contributions to Donald J. Trump for President, Inc., or any other presidential campaign committee.”

The letter is dated months before Cohen flipped on Trump and pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including campaign finance violations over the hush money payments. Cohen then testified against Trump as part of a plea deal.

Trump ally Robert Costello testified Monday against Cohen’s narrative. He told reporters that he told the grand jury about an alleged 2018 conversation he had with Cohen, in which Cohen said he made the $130,000 payment on his own, and that it was not Trump’s idea.

Cohen is a disbarred convict, he pled guilty to campaign finance violations, because his clinton attorney made a deal to include that so they could try to get Trump, he pled guilty so there was no trial to prove or disprove it, he went to jail for his other crimes.

It’s not a contradiction. The letter says that Trumps company and Trumps campaign didn’t reimburse him. The grand jury says that Trump gave him money back from personal funds.
Either way, how is this a crime?

The man can’t be trusted PERIOD. He’s now perjured himself and should be brought up on contempt charges as well as jury tampering. He must serve as notice to all others that perjury and tampering are punishable.

Except the checks are already evidence, most of them signed by Trump. Cohen was obviously lying in 2018. Either way, it should help trimp in trial or on appeal.

He can’t be trusted with anything. 1. He’s a proven liar. 2. We know which group of people his last name connotes. (We can be honest amongst friends)

Actually, if Trump deducted the $130k as a business expense, this would make Trump not guilty just of tax evasion but of perjury as well.
