Lawyer: Trump Indicted; 1st Ex-president Charged With Crime

NEW YORK (AP) – A lawyer for Donald Trump said Thursday he’s been told that the former president has been indicted in New York on charges involving payments made during the 2016 presidential campaign to silence claims of an extramarital sexual encounter.

It becomes the first ever criminal case against a former U.S. president and a jolt to Trump’s bid to retake the White House in 2024.

Joe Tacopina, a lawyer for Trump, told The Associated Press he had been told that a grand jury that had been meeting for months voted to indict Trump. The specific charges were not immediately made public.

Trump, who has denied any wrongdoing and has attacked the investigation, was expected to surrender to authorities next week, according to a person familiar with the matter who was not authorized to discuss a matter that remained under seal.

The grand jury indictment of Trump, 76, is an extraordinary development after years of investigations into his business, political and personal dealings. It is likely to galvanize critics who say Trump lied and cheated his way to the top and embolden supporters who feel the Republican is being unfairly targeted by a Democratic prosecutor.

Always remember, you can indict a ham sandwich, there is no case here, no crime was commited, even if there was, it would be at most a misdemeanor and even if bragg can pretend it is a felony (bragg who has downgraded a majority of felonies to misdemeanors, here is trying to do the opposite) it is still after the statute of limitations. Bragg is just another partisan hack trying trying to sabotage Trump’s 2024 campaign.

I was always told if you do the crime be prepared to do the time? I don’t care about the hush money but the sheer depravity of a married man with a newborn baby having an intimate relationship with a mistress and with a porn star offends me greatly.

One must remember, the commutations & pardons that he issued.
The worst swindlers, drug dealers and tax evaders in society.
His type of people, but it is the border or the deficit, or the books they read.
Perhaps they should make Mesilas Yesharim mandatory.
Biden II will surely issue him a pardon, so he does not have to share chow with Bubba or Mr. Supreme.

A few days to pesach and people have time to argue and even in a few cases insult each other over the the unknown allegations in a sealed indictment.

if Trump is guilty or innocent doesn’t matter as obviously Braggs has political motives here but that does not mean Trump ain’t a crook…he should be held accountable for his Georgia “i just need to find 11,780 votes” which is a serious crime and was not a “perfect phone call” like he claims

Let the facts be presented in open court and let a jury of peers decide guilt or innocence based on the evidence. It may be upsetting to the Chasidei Trump that anyone would have the chutzpah to indict their Rebbe, but as Yirei Shomayim we have to believe in Torah Achas – even for a former President. Let us give him the courtesy of believing in his innocence until proven guilty, and let the court system do its job as provided under the Constitution that he swore to uphold.

I’d say looking at a 6 figure fine and a misdemeanor on his record which would get expunged after a year. He definitely won’t take the stand. Only issue is this former editor for the Enquirer. Dont know why they wanted his testimony. He was involved with the other Perutza trump was with

Liam K Nuj, you are an ungrateful fascist eruv ravnik, go back to mitzrayim.
This is but another act in the final battle between good and evil. With the forces of evil controlling elections and all institutes of power in the US it seems that there is no saving and the US is destined to fall. The process of redemption cannot gain steam until we have our purim moment.

What crime, this was concocted by Alvin Bragg & Co. There’s NO CHANCE of any conviction, no SANE judge will convict a potential POTUS on, at best, a FRIVOLOUS scheme. No judge would want to ruin their career getting mixed up in some nincompoops VENDETTA !!!

    End result:
This indictment riles up the Trumpeteers, Trump wins nomination, Trump (and most Republicans down-ticket) get trounced by Biden (AGAIN!) and the Democrats down-ticket.
    Keep celebrating, Trumpeteers.
