JERUSALEM (VINnews) — A year after the tomb of Yosef Hatzadik was torched by Palestinian thugs, thousands of people arrived at the tomb to mark the Yesod Sheb’Yesod [identified as the attribute of Yosef] early Wednesday morning. This was the largest gathering of people at the tomb since before coronavirus. The gathering was secured by the IDF and organized by the Shomron Regional Council.

Shomron Regional Council head Yossi Dagan said that “We came here, a large group to pray at this holy place and to tell the government that the situation in which Jews come here in the middle of the night cannot continue. This is one of the holiest sites of the Jewish people and even in the evil and miserable Olso accords it is supposed to remain in the full control of the state of Israel, as well as the access road to the site. We expect the government to be bold and courageous and restore the Od Yosef Chai yeshiva to the site, as well as IDF soldiers who will maintain the site at all times. The Israeli flag must fly here and demonstrate to everyone -ourselves and our enemies- that we are not afraid. At a time when some people are trying to sow dissent and polarization within the nation, we connect to Yosef who knew how to forgive and connect all the people of Israel together.”

The MKs also spoke at the gathering and praised Dagan for all of his work in maintaining the tomb and organizing entries to the site.
