JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Many Israelis were shocked to hear Saturday night the reports that the US will provide precise and sensitive intelligence information about the whereabouts of the Hamas leaders if Israel will reduce the scope of its operation in Rafah. The controversial report was published in the Washington Post, citing four unnamed sources, and provoked indignant Israeli responses both from officials and on social media.

Some responders attacked the fact that President Biden is holding information that could enable Israel to catch Hamas leaders, and is hiding it from Israelis. One responder referred to the famous picture in which Biden holds 4-year-old Avigail Idan, whose parents were murdered on Oct. 4th.

“Dear Avigail, this man knows where the murderers of your parents are, this man hugging you is funding child murderers. This man holding you is an evil man who could bring about the destruction of Israel. He may appear like a sweet old man, but he isn’t. He is avaricious, a pathological liar, and a huge admirer of Sinwar and the Qataris. Watch yourself,” the responder wrote.

Shlomo Filber, a former aide to Prime Minister Netanyahu, wrote that “This means the Americans have the means to reveal where the tunnels holding hostages are located and for six months they weren’t offering us this assistance. Does Biden deserve to be photographed with families of the kidnapped hostages? And Blinken continues to authorize cabinet plans instead of helping us bring back the hostages.”
