IDF Names 2 Soldiers Who Fell In Gaza Fighting


JERUSALEM (VINnews) — BDE: The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit cleared for publication on Friday the names of two fallen IDF soldiers whose families have been notified:

  • Sergeant first class Adar Gavriel, 24, from Caesarea, fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip. Gavriel served in the 6828th Patrol Battalion of the 828th Brigade.
  • Sergeant Yehonatan Elias, 20, from Jerusalem, fell in battle in the southern Gaza Strip. Elias served in the Givati Patrol.

The IDF also cleared for publication that a combat officer from the Givati patrol was seriously injured in the battle in which Sergeant Elias fell.

According to initial IDF probes, Gavriel was killed in the northern Gaza Strip during a battle with terror operatives, while Elias was killed, and another Givati officer seriously wounded, as a result of an anti-tank missile fired at them in the southern Gaza Strip.

Elias was laid to rest at the Har Herzl Military Cemetery on Friday morning, Gavriel will be laid to rest at the Hadera cemetery.
