Israeli singer Dani Niv, known by his trade name Mooki, revealed this week that from Oct. 8th he has been placing Tefillin every morning and going to shul every Shabbat.

In a recent project “Sweeter than Honey” by folk singer Moshe Peretz, he invited other singers to join him in performing songs of faith and prayer. Mooki joined Peretz and the two sang Modeh Ani together. Mooki then revealed that “Every morning when I open my eyes I say Modeh Ani. My entire life I never said Modeh Ani, or Shma Yisrael and never put on Tefillin.”

“From Oct. 8th I put on Tefillin daily. My neighbor on one side, who is 80, still drives his tractor every Shabbat morning, and on the other side I have a shul. I am in that shul every Shabbat.

“You want to kill me because I’m a Jew? I’ll be super Jewish. Where there is truth, that’s where I want to be,” Mooki concluded.

Now for the rest of Am YISROEL to wake up.
When my father walked out of the concentration camps in 1945, he said the exact same thing.
מודה אני לפניך מלך חי וקיים…
If they wanted to kill me for being a Jew, then I will be the best Jew that I can be!
He raised 3 sons and many grandchildren and great grandchildren in the way of the Torah.
Now it’s our turn to make that choice, to be a Jew or to assume a non-identity.

There’s a reason that Esauv soineh es Yaakov; and it’s not because of Tzioinim, nor because Yidden are super successful nor because Yidden are clannish, nor because we’re trying to assimilate, nor because we’re Capitalists, nor because we’re Communists, etc., etc. It’s because we have the Truth, and because we have Morality, and because our existence & success is a Huge problem for the other monotheistic religions which claim to have replaced us.
