JERUSALEM (VINnews) — A 25-year-old charedi reservist soldier has been jailed for a month due to his “acting violently” towards Nukhba Hamas terrorists, according to a report on Israel’s Kan news outlet.

The report stated that his remand has been extended seven times already. The soldier, a Kfir brigade member who lives in Ofakim and saw the horrors of Oct. 7th, served his reserve duty at the Sde Teiman detention facility, where he was guarding the terrorists and allegedly used too much force against them.

Last week, three civilians were arrested on charges of “murdering” a Nukhba terrorist on Oct. 7th after he was taken into captivity.

Public Security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir came to visit Yisrael Biton, one of the arrested civilians. Yisrael is a United Hatzalah volunteer who responded on Oct. 7th, treating hundreds of wounded in the Gaza border region.

“Yisrael, I came to say thank you in the name of the state of Israel. I heard about your heroic story, how you endangered yourself and went to save lives. You reminded me of heroes like Mordechai Anilewitz and other heroes who endangered themselves to save under fire.

“This horrendous injustice which the state prosecutor Amit Isman has done, to open a ridiculous and crazy investigation- it is terrible! But I have come to say thank you in the name of the state of Israel.

Gen. Yisrael Ziv, a former commander of the Gaza division, referred to the arrest and said that if people endangered themselves, took weapons and killed terrorists, they should get a certificate of excellence and not an indictment.”

Conscription of the Chareidim to the army isn’t the solution to Israel’s security woes. This is only the passions of the wicked evil supreme court
The real solution is soldiers not having to worry about retaliation & consequences for downing terrorists. Proof:- July 2nd, 2008:- בת-שבע Unterman הי”ד;- policewoman was scared to kill terrorist who was already down, so as not to be reprimanded. But terrorist rose up notwithstanding his wounds & murdered this innocent young mother in front of her baby. Had this policewoman finished off this terrorist, בת-שבע Unterman would still be with us today.

The most virulant anti-Semites are leftists Jews. They instigate against Israel in the media. If the left wouldn’t have made the “peace deal” giving land to the terrorists Israel wouldn’t be in this position to begin with. And now these brainless leftists argue that i”it’s not terrorism, Palestinians are only ressisting the occupation” despite Israel not controlling Gaza since 2005…

I am as pro-IDF and it’s soldiers as it gets, and work full time with the army. That being said, I understand why he did what he did, but I also understand why the state and the army are doing what they have to do. Did this person deserve to die? Yes. But A) killing without seeing what sort of intelligence asset a prisoner can be, is being irresponsible and risking more lives, or losing the potential to save more. And B), if you start to just kill your prisoners, they are less likely to surrender, and will fight to the death, resulting in more of our heroes’ lives being lost.

So yes, I get why he did what he did. And I might have done that too. But it HAS to be discouraged and disciplined. For the sake of a functioning and not undisciplined military, and the above two reasons.
