In a statement released on Monday, the NJ state Lottery announced the winners of the NJ Powerball jackpot from the June 10 drawing, a $104.7-million ticket sold at Preet Food Mart in Lindenwold, Camden County. However, the $1.13 billion Mega Millions jackpot, which was sold in Monmouth County on March 26, remains unclaimed.
“The $1.13 billion Mega Millions jackpot from Tuesday, March 26, that was won by a single ticket in Neptune, New Jersey, remains unclaimed at this time,” said the state lottery in their Monday announcement. They also advised the winner to sign the ticket, make copies, seek legal and financial advice, and contact the lottery at 1-800-222-0996 to file the claim.
The winning ticket was sold in the liquor section of the Neptune ShopRite on Rt. 66. It matched all six numbers: 7, 11, 22, 29, 38, and the gold Mega Ball 4.
The ticket, with an estimated prize of $1.13 billion, has a cash value of $537.5 million. This marks the largest jackpot ever won in New Jersey and the fifth largest in U.S. lottery history.
For selling the winning ticket, the Rt. 66 Saker ShopRite received a $30,000 bonus check.
“A New Jersey law allows lottery winners to remain anonymous indefinitely,” the lottery statement continued. “The identity of winners will not be disclosed under the State’s Open Public Records Act (OPRA). However, players claiming lottery prizes worth $600 or more must still provide their identity to Lottery officials to claim a prize.”
