Caracas, Venezuela ( VINnews)- In a fiery speech on national television, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro accused Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, of being behind a series of destabilizing actions within the country. Maduro claimed that Musk’s wealth and technological resources, particularly his satellites, were being used to undermine the Venezuelan government.

“We knew that you were behind everything,” Maduro declared. “Elon Musk, with your money, with your satellites. It is the representation of fascist ideology in the world.”

Maduro’s comments come amid escalating political and economic crises in Venezuela, where the government has faced widespread criticism for its handling of the country’s economy and human rights issues. The Venezuelan president has previously accused various international figures and governments of attempting to destabilize his administration, but this is the first time he has pointed the finger at Musk.

Maduro did not provide specific evidence to support his claims against Musk. The accusation has been met with skepticism by many analysts, who see it as part of a broader strategy to deflect blame for the country’s internal problems onto external actors.

Elon Musk has not yet responded to Maduro’s allegations. Known for his active presence on social media, it remains to be seen whether he will address these claims directly.

Political analysts suggest that Maduro’s latest remarks are aimed at rallying his base by portraying himself as a victim of foreign interference. “By targeting a high-profile figure like Musk, Maduro is attempting to shift the narrative away from his government’s failures and towards a perceived external threat,” said a Caracas-based political scientist.

The Venezuelan government’s relationship with the international community has been strained for years, with many countries imposing sanctions and criticizing Maduro’s administration for its authoritarian practices. Maduro’s latest accusations are likely to further isolate Venezuela on the global stage.
