Owens said that she reached out to Rabbi Bashevkin after she discussed the Jewish historical topics of Sabbateanism and Frankism on her show, and he posted about her comments but apparently did not fully understand her point, so she messaged him privately to clarify.

She added that they had a “wonderful discussion” and “wonderful back and forth” on the topic with the “Jewish PhD professor and writer”. She emphasized that Judaism and Christianity should unite to fight Satanic enemies.

Rabbi Bashevkin addressed the shoutout on Twitter, saying:

“Yes I heard the shoutout from @RealCandaceO She did in fact DM me—I don’t share DM’s ever. We didn’t discuss Leo Frank—he had nothing to do with Frankism as far as I know. We discussed Frankism and how the rabbinic fight against Sabbateanism actually brought Jews and Christians together.I’m not sure why she seems to be conflating the two. I don’t know so much about the Leo Frank case though.”

Many Jewish Twitter users observed that Owens butchered the pronunciation of the Rabbi’s name, and Owens joked about this on Twitter in a reply to Rabbi Bashevkin.

At one point in the thread, Owens apologized for sharing their private messages, and told him she would ask permission in the future, to which Rabbi Bashevkin said that he did not mind, even though he personally opted not to share DM’s.

Owens has a long history of spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories, as we have  reported on VIN News frequently. In addition, she has used the tragic Leo Frank story in the past as a means to discredit the ADL

Leo Frank was framed for a murder he did not commit, and then he was lynched. Look it up. She is a vicious liar.

She is obsessed with a case over 100 years old in which Frank was the victim, even if he might have been guilty. The Southern racists put aside their hate for Blacks and believed the inconsistent testimony of the janitor over the circumstantial evidence implicating him. And until this day, Candice- even while trying to be conciliatory- tries to use Bashevkin to vindicate her feelings towards a 125-year-old accusation.

Why didn’t he use that opportunity to blast her blatant antisemitic comments?

She has a point though, why were so

From Wikipedia.

In modern times, despite strong evidence pointing to Frank’s innocence, the case has become a modern focal point for neo-Nazis and anti-Semites. This is partly because it led to the creation of the Anti-Defamation League but also because it fed into anti-semitic conspiracy theories claiming Jewish control of the media. As a consequence, in recent years a number of websites have been established by white supremacists disputing the prevailing consensus of Frank’s innocence.[247] On the centenary of the trial, the Anti-Defamation League issued a press release condemning what it called “misleading websites” from “anti-Semites … to promote anti-Jewish views”.[248]
