ORANGE COUNTY, NY – A retired Orange County judge and former prosecutor, Stewart Rosenwasser, is facing bribery allegations tied to a Rockland County family involved in a cold case murder.

Court documents reveal that Rosenwasser was hired by Moutz “Marty” Soudani to investigate his relatives, Eman and Martin Soudani, over accusations of stealing $1.6 million in cryptocurrency.
Martin Soudani pleaded guilty in 2023, returning $500,000 to his uncle, and was sentenced to prison. However, the Soudanis now claim Rosenwasser accepted $48,100 in bribes from Marty, resulting in false arrests, ignored evidence, and wrongful prosecution.
Texts allegedly show Rosenwasser offering to “protect” Marty, and a prior financial relationship between the two is noted. Rosenwasser, who retired in June, is also under federal investigation for tax evasion.
The Soudanis plan to sue for $22.5 million. District Attorney Dave Hoovler said the allegations focus solely on Rosenwasser.
So … where’s the cold case murder??
