New York City (VINnews)-Jay L. Schottenstein, CEO and Chairman of American Eagle, marked an extraordinary milestone at the New York Stock Exchange. Celebrating 30 years of the company being publicly traded, Schottenstein opened the market with a unique gesture. Accompanied by his son Jeffery, he opted to blow a shofar instead of the traditional ringing of the opening bell, making for an unprecedented moment on the trading floor.

Schottenstein, who also sponsors the Artscroll Schottenstein Shas, explained to his employees that he blows the shofar daily during this month, aligning with the Jewish custom of blowing the shofar during Elul. This act, heard by the world, was a profound expression of his faith, creating a massive Kiddush Hashem.
WOW! I love this guy! He is so real and authentic, not scared of anybody! He does big thing for Yiddishkeit!
I just loved it. So creative and unapologetic. He’s bringing a deep seated tradition going back to Isaac’s ram to a place with no values and no traditions. Much success to this giant supporter of Torah!
I hope he’s honest and treats his workers well–that’s a bigger Kiddush Hashem than blowing a shofar for a bunch of goyim.
This Kiddush Hashem is one of the biggest I’ve seen
And naturally from the jealous ones
Negative comments
I may be mistaken, but that does not look like the exchange.
So amazing. There are still great people in this world.
