NEW YORK (VINnews) – In a significant development for the city’s Torah community, Manhattan’s Upper East Side is set to become the epicenter of advanced limmud haTorah this Elul. The NYC Yarchei Kallah will bring together esteemed Gedolim, Roshei Yeshivos, Rabbanim and Bnei Torah of Manhattan.

This historic gathering, organized by the Semicha Program at Chabad Young Professionals of the Upper East Side, marks a new chapter in the revival of intense Torah study among New York’s professional class. The event offers a unique opportunity for both seasoned learners and newcomers to experience the invigorating atmosphere of an Elul Zman.
“Recently, we’ve seen a remarkable increase in interest among Yidden to deepen their Torah studies,” said Rabbi Yosef Wilhelm of Chabad Young Professionals Upper East Side. “This Yarchei Kallah provides a platform for those passionate about advanced limmud HaTorah to reconnect with their yeshiva memories or to discover this rich experience for the first time, coming together as a community of Manhattan’s Bnei Torah.”
The Torah symposium will bring together the city’s foremost Torah leaders from Manhattan’s Batei Dinim, Yeshivos, and Kollelim. Attendees will be privileged to hear Divrei Torah and Chizzuk from luminaries HaRav Berel Feinstein Shlita, Rosh Yeshiva of Mesivta Tiferes Yerushalayim; HaDayan Mordechai Hecht Shlita, Rosh Machon Semicha of the Upper East Side and Dayan at Beth Din East Flatbush; HaRav Don Blumberg Shlita, Rosh Kollel of West Side Kollel; and HaDayan Daniel Rapp Shlita of the RCA and Yeshiva University. This unprecedented gathering underscores Manhattan’s position as a vibrant center of Torah scholarship and learning.
The Yarchei Kallah represents a unique confluence of Torah scholarship and professional achievement, reflecting a broader trend in the Jewish world. It highlights the growing number of successful professionals who are dedicating significant time to advanced Limmud HaTorah, often juggling demanding careers with rigorous learning schedules.
“Immersing myself in authentic in-depth Torah learning has completely transformed my life,” said Mr. Jonnie Haber, Managing Director at Hirshmark Capital, and a member of the Upper East Side Semicha Program. “It has inspired myself and the Chevra to commit to a higher standard of Yiddishkeit from a peer-to-peer level as opposed to from the top down. Many people don’t realize the wealth of authentic, high-level Torah learning available right here in Manhattan. Our goal is to bring Manhattan’s Bnei Torah community together, showcasing the accessibility of real, in-depth Torah study in our city.”
The NYC Yarchei Kallah will be held at Chabad Upper East Side on Wednesday, 22 Elul, September 25, 2024. from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, is expected to draw participants from across Manhattan.
Approaching the Yomim Noraim, there could be no greater zechus than to join in this collective effort to elevate kavod shamayim through Limmud HaTorah. May the merit of our learning stand us in good stead as we approach the Yom Hadin.
