According to reporter Jacob Kornbluh, Biden will continue what is a yearly tradition, at the start of the nearly month-long Yom Tov season for Jews, which perhaps has more significance than in past years.
As quoted by Kornbluh: “President Biden understands that this year’s High Holidays may feel different, as the tragic events of Oct. 7 have left many in deep grief,” said Shelley Greenspan, White House Jewish liaison. “He is committed to ensuring that the Jewish community feels supported and recognized during this pivotal time of reflection, renewal, and hope.”
Biden will deliver opening remarks, followed by a Q&A session where senior staff will answer questions from representatives of each denomination, Greenspan said. The implication is, Biden will not be answering questions, only delivering prepared remarks.
Below is an excerpt from Biden’s Rosh Hashana message in 2023:
“Throughout the High Holidays – commencing with Rosh Hashanah, continuing through the 10 Days of Repentance, and concluding on Yom Kippur – the stirring sound of the shofar calls us to examine our character and conduct. Heartfelt prayers invite us to repair our relationship with each other, with ourselves, and with God. And the tashlich ritual, that symbolizes casting away our sins, inspires us to learn from our mistakes and commit to doing better in the future.
“During this spiritual time of reflection and atonement, we are also uplifted by the hope a new year brings. As Jewish families gather around the table, and apples are joyfully dipped in honey, we are reminded that it is never too late to change and begin anew. Our actions have the power to shift the balance of our fate, our nation, and our world.”
Who cares about Dem sweet TALK, while Dems DO everything they can to destroy Jews all over the world — from EY to the US!
They better prepare a written statement. It would be quite embarrassing if he mistakenly wishes the Rabbi a Merry Christmas
