Jaffa, October 1, 2024 (VINnews)— A suspected terror attack has shaken the coastal city of Jaffa, with reports of multiple casualties following a shooting incident.

According to Israeli police, the shooting is being treated as a potential terror attack, though no further details about the assailant have been released at this time. The incident took place in a busy part of Jaffa, a mixed Jewish-Arab neighborhood known for its vibrant cultural life and tourism.
Medics from Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency ambulance service, are on the scene and providing treatment to several victims. Some of those injured are reported to be unconscious, and the severity of their injuries is still being assessed.
In a statement, MDA confirmed it was responding to the situation with emergency medical teams, describing the scene as “chaotic” as medics rushed to save lives. No official count of the wounded or deceased has been confirmed.
Authorities are advising the public to stay clear of the area as security forces continue to sweep for potential threats and secure the scene.
