Reports indicate that at least four victims sustained critical injuries. Magen David Adom confirmed that the incident involved multiple casualties.

The terror attack took place near a light rail station in the city. Security forces responded by shooting dead two terrorists who were seen exiting the train.

Videos from the scene captured several bodies on the ground amidst the chaos.

Hanan Peretz, the head of the Sela Unit, commended his team’s rapid response. He noted, “They identified the shooter, took cover, and returned fire without hesitation. It appears the assailant’s weapon jammed during the attack.”

Witnesses recounted the panic that ensued. One passenger on the light rail said, “We heard gunfire and initially thought it was fireworks. It quickly became clear that it was far more serious. We hit the ground, and people were screaming. I saw someone bleeding nearby.” A shop owner in the area recalled, “I saw crowds fleeing and heard them shout ‘terror attack.’ I quickly shut my shop and locked the doors.”

Authorities continue to investigate the incident, which occurred close to the Erlich Station of the light rail.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, along with Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai and Tel Aviv District Commander Haim Sargrof, arrived at the scene. Commander Sargrof described the situation as grave, detailing how the two attackers boarded the light rail, fired at bystanders, and continued their assault on the street after exiting the train. He confirmed that a light rail security guard, municipal officers, and police responded, neutralizing both assailants. Further investigations are ongoing with the Shin Bet regarding the attackers’ identities, which have been confirmed as non-Israeli nationals.
