JERUSALEM (VINnews) — After the avreich Rav Refoel Mordechai Fishhof HYD passed away from injuries sustained in Wednesday’s terrorist stabbing attack in Hadera, the family wished to bury him in the Ponovezh Beis Hachaim in Bnei Brak, a private burial site. The widow had also expressed a wish that he be buried there. However the price of such a burial is prohibitive and therefore the family resigned itself to burying Rabbi Fishhof in Jerusalem in the Har Hamenuchos Beis Hachaim.

When Rabbi Shai Graucher, who has performed significant acts of chesed during the Swords of Iron war, heard about the family’s wishes, he utilized his connections and managed to pay for two plots in the Ponovezh Beis Hachaim -one for Rav Refoel Mordechai and one for his widow. The cost of the two plots was 220,000 NIS.

Children of Rav Fishhof HYD say kaddish at his grave

The family, who are in deep sorrow, were very appreciative at this kind gesture. A family member said that Rav Fishhof’s father, who has taught for many years in Beis Matisyahu yeshiva in Bnei Brak, had dearly wanted his son to be buried in the Ponovezh Beis Hachaim and felt extremely indebted to Rabbi Graucher for fulfilling his wish.

$30k a plot, in a land that has no shortage of normally priced Jewish cemeteries?! Two questions: who is the rasha responsible for this outrageous pricing, and who are the cult members willing to waste money on these overpriced lots as opposed to using it on tzedaka?!
If you say “my money to use as I see fit” — the posuk of kochi veotzem yodi is about you then.

The price for two small plots of land on Bnei Beak is beyond extortionate. It makes ElAl’s fares, which everyone bleated on about, lol very reasonable. At NIS 110,000 ($30,000) per m², that works out at a very handsome return for this private cemetery. The Ponovezh Beis Hachaim has clearly learned how to leverage the rules of supply and demand. I thought kevias hameis was a mitzvah of chessed shel emes.

The stereotype of the greedy Jew still applies even when you’re dead. Unbelievable!! Disgusting!

The price is actually quite reasonable. Consider the price of a small apartment in Bnei B’rak which is occupied for a short period, maybe 40-50 years and now compare that to a comfortable grave, yours to enjoy until Techiat Hametim.

Who do you think you are, to be publicizing a video of children saying Kaddish for their murdered father? Erev Yom Kippur no less. Not everything has to be sensationalized. Shame on you.
