Officials describe Haberfeld as “extremely vulnerable and easily manipulated,” raising significant concerns about his safety. “This case is unique due to his susceptibility to influence, making it critical we locate him quickly,” said HBPD spokesperson Grace Mariot.
Despite numerous leads, investigators have not yet found any substantial clues. Detectives worry that Haberfeld may have become involved with individuals who could exploit his trusting nature, including some who may have criminal histories. Although details remain undisclosed, police confirmed that they are investigating potential connections with such individuals.
Haberfeld’s family, noting his work in the jewelry business selling watches, said it is unusual for him to disappear without notice, amplifying their concerns. Police are urging the public for assistance, emphasizing the importance of his safe return.
“We need him to return home safely,” Mariot said. “His family is deeply worried and wants him back.”
The Hallandale Beach Police continue canvassing the area for surveillance footage and have issued a public alert to encourage tips. Anyone with information is asked to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
