(VINnews) — Several Orthodox Jews are speaking out, following a letter which claims to be signed by 33 ‘Orthodox Rabbis’ in support of Kamala Harris, which has turned out to be mostly a fraud.

It turns out that many, if not most of the supposed Orthodox Rabbis, are neither Orthodox nor Rabbis. In fact, as one critic observed, the fact that this was the best they could do, proves how miniscule the support for Kamala Harris is among Orthodox Jews.

According to one publication:

“A group of American rabbis, all identifying as Orthodox, published a letter of support for Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday. The organizers described the move as a “rabbi rebellion” given that Orthodox Jews have reliably voted for Republicans and turned out en masse for former President Donald Trump in 2020.

“While one can certainly engage in debate regarding certain policies, the risks posed by former President Trump’s character make clear to us as Torah-abiding Jews that we should support VP Kamala Harris,” the endorsement read. It also praised her as “a person of upstanding character, offers stability in her leadership, and supports Israel and the Jewish people.”

Rabbi Yaakov Menken slammed the letter over its inaccuracy. Journalist Daniel Greenfield, whose X handle is @Sultanknish, wrote the following:

Dems Claim 33 “Orthodox Rabbis” signed letter in support of Kamala

9 are women. Orthodox Judaism does not ordain women.

Rabbi Shamir Caplan appears to be an Australian clergyman in Melbourne who endorses gay marriage

Michael Langer was a fellow of the anti-Israel T’ruah hate group

Eric Leiderman’s pronouns are he/they. He’s a conservative rabbi.

David Jaffe is a community organizer with leftist groups

Tyson Herberger is an associate professor of religion and religious education at the

University of South-Eastern Norway who deals with immoral issues

Herzl Hefter created a “program where women and men study together to become Rabbis”

Daniel Landes ‘ordained’ the first ‘gay rabbi’

Daniel Levitt is the product of the non-Orthodox YCT and works at Congregation Agudath Achim, a conservative synagogue

Mel Gottlieb is the rabbi of a conservative synagogue

Most of the 33 “Orthodox Rabbis’ are not Orthodox.

Few have any involvement with the Orthodox Jewish community.

Quite a few are professional academics or activists.

Many have views that are completely incompatible with Orthodox Judaism

The fact that these are the only people they could find to sign an ‘Orthodox Rabbis’ for Kamala letter shows just how little support for her there is among the Orthodox Jewish community.

Rabbi Menken, Executive Director of the Coalition for Jewish Values, which has thousands of Orthodox Rabbis as members, wrote: “In a world in which Yanklowitz, Alyza, Alana, and Agnes are “Orthodox rabbis,” there’s an “Orthodox” vote for Harris. In the real world, however, none of the above are true. Over 95% of traditional Orthodox (charedi) rabbis will be voting for Trump.”

WOW! Obama issued a message saying no Jew should vote for Trump, so New York Jews filled the streets blasting a Yiddish song that says “VOTE FOR DONALD TRUMP!” (by Lipa Schmelczer)

as a group, politicians have never been known for their truthfulness, but fabricating letters of support isn’t a high point of this campaign.

This really doesn’t even look like a real letter from a real campaign.

It could be just made up. I wonder if someone has an official letter from the Harris campaign or from the Democratic party that says this.

Hashem runs the world and we have every reason to be grateful and more hopeful. This red wave heralded in by Trump gives us all reason to be optimistic that things will get better for the U. S., for Jews in the U. S. and for Israel, Be’ezrat Hashem. However, I am embarrassed and infuriated by the huge tragedy that 79% of American Jews did not vote for him. I am certain that every last one of them will have to give Din V’Cheshbon one day for having voted for Biden in 2020 and for Kamala now. They lack Hakarat Hatov, and worst of all knowingly voted each time for a candidate who promised to enrich Iran, push Israel into a fatal 2 state deal, reinstate aid to Palestinians (used to slaughter Jews), and support the murderous UN. With Jews like this are our own worst enemy. Shame on every single one of them, ESPECIALLY the ones who are Orthodox

If “Over 95% of traditional Orthodox (charedi) rabbis will be voting for Trump,” then this letter UNDERSTATES the # of Orthodox Rabbis who will be voting for Harris!
5% of all Orthodox Rabbis is a lot more than 33!

What a disgusting article. You think you are pious by discounting other forms of Judaism, and in turn the value of their opinion on the election?
It’s Jews like you who make Jews listed above look bad. You should be ashamed…
