MICHIGAN – A reported gas leak has shut down the polling place at Northville City, Michigan. The incident, which was reported early on Election Day, led officials to close the site to ensure the safety of voters and election workers.

Local authorities are actively working to address the situation and restore safe access to the polling place. Voters assigned to Precinct 1 are encouraged to stay updated on developments by visiting the City of Northville’s official website or by contacting the City Clerk’s Office directly at 248-349-1300. Officials have indicated that alternative voting arrangements or temporary relocation options will be shared as soon as possible if the delay extends.
“We’re focused on resolving this quickly and ensuring every registered voter can cast their ballot,” a spokesperson for the city said. “Safety remains our primary concern, and we appreciate the patience of our community members as we work through this unexpected event.”

I posted days ago to plan ahead and vote early. You can’t presume polling places would be accessible and functioning on Election Day -especially in Jewish neighborhoods.
