University Heights Mayor Expresses Frustration Over Trump Win in a Community with a Large Orthodox Jewish Population

    17

In a surprising display of political discord, University Heights Mayor Michael Dylan Brennan recently took to social media with a post that some have called unprofessional, polarizing, and unbecoming of a public official. The post, which openly criticizes council members by name and blames them for what he describes as “dysfunction and strident tone in city government,” has raised eyebrows across the community.

The mayor’s message centered around the voting results in University Heights, which has a large amount Orthodox constituents, with Brennan calling out certain precincts and council members he identifies as aligned with “MAGA” ideals. He specifically names council members Michele Weiss and Sheri Sax, labeling them as part of a faction responsible for the “dysfunction” within the local government. By attributing their alleged behavior to partisan divisions, the mayor has brought a level of national political polarization into the heart of local governance—a move that many see as unprofessional and divisive.

Wait a second. He writes that Republican council members Weiss and Sax work together with Democratic council members Rach, Weizer and Marshall. Isn’t that called unity, and isn’t that what we want? (Sarcasm alert)

So what? What’s so surprising? Most frum Jews live in cities whose Mayor is a Democrat. Almost all of them expressed their heavy disappointment in a Trump win and only have negative things to say about him.

Nothing terrible said , he was frustrated that the frumme are working with both sides to promote issues that are important to the orthodox…politics is a smelly business…it’s not anti semitic.
