MEMPHIS – Authorities are investigating whether the fatal shooting of an Israeli locksmith in South Memphis may have been motivated by terror. The victim, Aviv Brook, who frequently assisted the local Jewish community, was killed early Friday after responding to what appeared to be a routine service call.

Memphis Police found Brook’s body shortly after 1:15 AM following reports of gunfire in the area. Preliminary findings suggest he was lured to the location at 2300 block of Hernando Road, under the guise of a locksmith job before being attacked and robbed. No suspects have been apprehended so far.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry has stated it is closely following the investigation. Meanwhile, Brook’s family is making arrangements to transport his body back to Israel for burial.
