JERUSALEM (VINnews) — One of the leaders of the “Lev Tahor” cult, Eliezer Rumpler, against whom serious charges of child abuse were filed in 2020, managed to flee Israel using a fake passport in December 2020, despite an exit order against him. In recent days, he was arrested in El Salvador as part of the authorities’ efforts to combat members of the cult.

Due to the severe charges against him, a hearing was supposed to have taken place in his case at the Jerusalem District Court in December 2020, but he fled to Guatemala using a fake passport. As mentioned, he has now been arrested, and sources in Guatemala reported that extradition proceedings to Israel have begun.
The indictment filed against Rumpler in 2019 charges him with severe abuse of minors, offenses allegedly committed while he was in Canada. Rumpler’s lawyer, informed the prosecution in 2020 that Rumpler, who is accused of both physical and psychological abuse of children aged 9-10, had fled the country to Guatemala, despite the exit order that was in place against him.
According to the indictment, Rumpler beat two students at the school he managed while the community was in Canada. In the first abuse case, Rumpler suspected one of the students had stolen money from charity boxes. As punishment, the child was placed on a table, and his legs were tied to the table so he couldn’t move.
Afterward, “the defendant and another teacher began to beat the student with a belt and a stick for several hours. All while the student cried, screamed for help, and begged them to stop.” As a result of the severe beatings, the student was unable to stand on his legs “and required being carried by two people to his home.”
In the second case described in the indictment, Rumpler suspected a student had lied. “As a result, the defendant and the other teachers gathered the school’s students and told them that there was a student among them who had lied and needed to confess, but none of the children responded,” the indictment states. “Then they placed the student on a table, and two of the teachers began whipping him for about an hour, with the defendant, as the school principal, and the other teachers watching.”
As previously mentioned, about a week ago, Jonathan Emanuel Cardona Castillo, a member of the Lev Tahor cult, was arrested in El Salvador on suspicion of human trafficking and forced child marriages, as he attempted to evade arrest. To avoid the police who were searching for him after an international arrest warrant was issued by Interpol, he shaved off his sideburns and beard. He was arrested together with Rumpler.
The El Salvador police reported that the relevant authorities are already coordinating his extradition so he can stand trial in Guatemala. The suspect was apprehended while trying to enter El Salvador at a northern border point with Guatemala. The police did not report on the exact day of the arrests.
On December 20, 2024, authorities in Guatemala raided a Lev Tahor compound located in San Rosa, about 90 kilometers from Guatemala City, following reports of abuse. They rescued at least 160 minors and 40 women, who are now being held in a welfare facility.
Doesn’t anyone have rachmonos on the sexually, mentally and physically abused children?
So thats it, finally we have an end to Lev Tahor? Or are there any other subgroups hiding somewhere?
I really hope that he is shown to be what we all suspected: a pervert covering himself with the clothing of being righteous.
Let him and his friends rot in jail
The things that he’s done with it
Rompler is his name!? You’re kidding me! It’s like Rapist being one’s last name.
Why is VIN posting a picture of this alleged abuser in underwear ?
In Torah when someone kills or commits adultery is he entitled to Public shaming like by the non-Jewish world? Don’t think so
His well deserved punishment will be harsh enough, pls don’t overdo it
