ISRAEL (VINnews) — Ben Shapiro spoke to Arutz Sheva, discussing, among other things, the hostage release and cease-fire deal. “I think the fact is that the Trump Administration wants the hostages out, and I also think that they want a headline that is connected to the hostages being released,” Shapiro began.

“I think whether the deal ends up being a net benefit for Israel and for the United States or whether it ends up being a net detriment is going to be largely determined by whether it’s seen as a ceasefire/end of war deal or whether it’s seen as a hostage release deal. And it seems to me far-fetched to believe that the Trump Administration would cram down a full-scale ceasefire deal that allowed Hamas to remain in place given the fact that literally every Cabinet nominee who’s spoken on this has said precisely the reverse.
He pointed out that Pete Hegseth this week said that he supports Israel “in killing literally every member of Hamas.”
“So any sort of deal that ends with Hamas in control, either titular or effectual, of the Gaza Strip, seems to be a non-starter. So what that actually means is that is probably best to be seen, if you going to try and game it out, as a way of guaranteeing that many of the hostages get out – hopefully as many as possible – and then a recognition that Israel is going to have to go back in and mop up the job,” he said.
“I think the sort of take that this is an end-of-war deal as opposed to a ‘free the hostages and then see where you are deal, I think that’s probably mistaken,” Shapiro said.
Shapiro also said, “I think that the notion that Hamas is a trustworthy negotiating partner because they decide that they’re going to release babies in exchange for murderous terrorists: I don’t think President Trump believes that, I don’t think anyone in his national security team believes that, and so I think that probably, what this is from the Trump team – as probably well as the Biden team – is to get as many hostages out as you can get out with the minimum possible immediate withdrawals.”
“It’s a painful deal,” he said. “The question is how much pain, and I think that’s yet to be seen…It’s only going to be determined how bad or good the deal is as it’s implemented. I have enough trust in both the Netanyahu administration and the Trump administration to believe that it isn’t a full-scale surrender as it’s been portrayed by some.”
He said that with Trump taking office, “the boot is going to be off the neck of the IDF and of Israel in general with regard to fighting terrorism and taking measures necessary to secure itself. That obviously wasn’t the case with the Biden Administration that was slow-walking aid, that was preventing Israel from getting weaponry that it required.”
No, Ben, it’s a very bad deal. Trump/Biden are enabling Hamas to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. If Trump would just let Israel finish the job, without the handcuffs that Biden put on the army, Israel could finish off Hamas and THEN rebuild Gaza, the right way. Everyone knows that the money to flow in, is going right to Hamas to re-tunnel and re-arm, for the next 10/7. All those soldiers and hostages have died in vain.
The excuses have started.
We will have another 4 years of excuses for Trump not doing a single thing.
BS”D
This deal serves as a harsh reminder of our reality.
Despite sharing commonalities with us, Trump’s priorities didn’t align with our interests. As King David said in Psalms, “Yeminam yemin shaker”.
The truth is, we’re in a state of exile (golus), and Israelis are in an even deeper state of exile.
Our reality is that we need Moshiach, and we must cry out for him, just as the Jewish Nation cried out to Hashem in Egypt, prompting the start of our redemption.
It is a bad deal but there is no choice. Hamas cannot be threatened by anything including Trump. They are willing to die for their cause.
The constant news how great the war is going for Israel and how Hamas is nearly destroyed (which we are hearing for many months now) is entirely Israeli propaganda.
Dont kid yourself. All wars have propaganda including the allies against Germany. It’s important for morale. But it’s false. 15 months in and Hamas is plenty strong. They constantly recruit new fighters and are in full control of the hostages. It’s a miracle they agree to a deal at all.
Absolutely terrible and forbidden deal. I saw an article that crunched the numbers on released terrorists committing murder of Jews after release and it says that the statistics suggest that the scum released in this deal will kill over 300 Jews chas v’shalom.
According to many, Steve Witkoff is known to have tie$ with Qatar. Hence, the urgency of the “deal”.
Follow the $ trail.
He should never have been in that position.
The Gaza “health ministry” AKA known as the Hamas regime of the racist Arab “Palestine” death cult, brags of using its own people as human shields (“dead baby strategy”).

Trump saw an opportunity to cement his image as a president who is feared by Iran and its proxies just like the greatest President Ronald Regan, no matter the consequences he wants this image
This is what a sellout sounds like.
Ask Musk. He’ll tell Trump what to do.
Who asked him?
Ben Shapiro is out of his league.
He is not informed enough about terrorism, foreign policy or Torah law on this. I usually like Ben, but he’s sounding stupid. He sounds like a parrot, and he sounds like he needs to protect this deal at all costs, even if it will be a huge disaster.
Ben Shapiro, stick to your day job, please.
