WASHINGTON (VINnews) — Only a few hours into his presidency, President Trump is already off to the races. Here is a list of executive orders Trump was expected to sign Monday:

National emergency at the southern border

This order would help the Defense Dept. quickly deploy members of armed forces to the border.

End catch and release

The administration will no longer allow immigrants who entered illegally remain in the country as long as they are in the process for asylum.

Reinstate the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy

This ingenious policy, created by Trump 1.0, requires asylum-seekers to stay in Mexico until their claims are processed.

Resume border wall construction

This will resume construction of the southern border wall during his first administration in an effort to prevent illegal crossings.

Designated Mexico’s drug cartels as “global terrorists.”

Change definition of birthright citizenship

The president ended the right of children born in the U.S. to parents who lack legal status to claim citizenship.

Direct the military to prioritize borders

This order would “clarify the military’s role in protecting the territorial integrity of the United States” by sending military personnel to the border and other measures.

Enhanced border vetting and screening

End Government censorship

The president signed an order “to immediately stop all government censorship and bring back free speech to America.”

Federal government regulation and hiring freeze

Trump implemented a regulation freeze and a hiring freeze for the federal government by executive order. “Most of those bureaucrats are getting fired, they’re gone,” Trump said.
He added there will be a hiring freeze for IRS workers, specifically, and he issued an order to ensure federal workers are returning to work in their offices.

End the ‘weaponization’ of federal government

Trump signed an executive order directing federal agencies to maintain all records concerning what he has branded as “political persecutions” to expose instances of “abuse of power.”

Revoke 78 of Biden’s executive orders

Reduce ‘cost-of-living’ crisis

Trump signed a directive to every department and “every agency to address the cost-of-living crisis that has affected Americans so dearly.”

Declare national energy emergency

Trump will declare an “energy emergency,” ending leasing to wind farms, among other measures. The order will eliminate what he calls President Biden’s electric vehicle mandate.

Withdraw from the Paris climate agreement (again)

Trump signed an order to withdraw a second time from the Paris climate agreement.

The nonbinding agreement includes a commitment among members to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the primary cause of climate change, to avert warming beyond 1.5 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial average.

Reinstate expelled service members

Trump said he would sign an order reinstating service members who were “unjustly expelled from our military for objecting to the COVID vaccine mandate with full back pay.”

Rename the Gulf of Mexico

Trump will issue an order to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America.”

Establish DOGE

Trump signed an executive order establishing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which he says will eliminate government overspending. The new agency will be co-led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.

Delay ban on TikTok

Trump said early Sunday that he would issue an executive order to delay the ban on TikTok that went into effect one day before his inauguration.

Flying the US flag at full-staff on inauguration day

Trump signed an executive order directing that flags be flown at full-mast for this Inauguration Day and all future ones.

Pardoning Jan. 6 rioters

Trump signed a full pardon for 1500 Jan. 6 rioters. During a speech, he said he wanted “the January 6th hostages… out.”

Limit definitions of gender identity

End federal DEI programs

This order will end funding for DEI funding in the government and will direct the Office of Management and Budget and the Office of Personnel Management to end “illegal mandates, preferences.”

Buckle up. This is only day one. It’s going to be a wild ride.

He rescinded dozens of Biden’s executive orders including the one sanctioning Jews in Yehudah and Shomron, and also the one removing Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, and many others.

The ban on government censorship, which I read, seems to be an instruction to federal employees to follow the constitution and not do anything unconstitutional or encourage anything unconstitutional.

Seeing as private companies censoring content is not against the constitution, the EO is just plain gibberish.

Gonna have a hard time revoking birthright citizenship. The 14th Amendment is clear.
“Sect. 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law, nor deny any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”
