(VINnews) — The Interior Ministry in Israel plans to change a property tax discount rule, in a manner which is expected to harm Kollel families.

Under the new property tax (arnona) discount rules, instead of showing payslips from the last three months, people asking for a tax discount will need to provide information about average income over the past year.

This change may hurt financially weaker groups, particularly families of married yeshiva students, as it doesn’t take into account their unique income sources, which may be erratic and inconsistent, such as help from family or seasonal work.

A Kollel student told Arutz Sheva that many families rely on non-regular income, explaining that by calculating their income based on a full year could give an inaccurate picture of their financial situation and cause them to lose vital tax breaks.

The Interior Ministry explained that in 2017, changes were made to how arnona discounts are calculated, moving from a three-month income average to a full year’s income, to better reflect a person’s earnings over time. They said the new rule has been in a temporary phase, but now they plan to fully implement it. The public can comment on the proposed changes until January 26, 2025, and after that, the matter will be finalized.

Leaving any bias aside, Calcuating income on just the last 3 months seems like an easy way for people to game the system. You can artfifcially lower things for 3 months and farnegal living on a lower income. People can tell their boos to pay them less for 3 months. But for a year its harder.

I believe it’s pointless to fight in these endless wars if Israel doesn’t take back all of gaza and shmoron once and for all.
Otherwise all these soldier’s are giving their lives for nothing.
So chariedim and secular alike should refuse serving in the army until Israel starts growing a set and taking back 100% of what god gave us and not fight these endless gorilla wars.

Talking about income is even not serious . When an avreh received a few hundred $ a month … who can even call that an income ?!?!?!
It’s just a miracle that they can survive amongst these wolves.
Calling to vote and to participate to the Avoda zara of state was another huge Avoda zara !!

It clearly shows how the medina is waging a war against Torah. From trying to draft our future gedolim to trying to tax them. How low will this government go to fight Hashem? The entire kiyom Eretz Yisroel is thanks to our Bnei Torah.
