WASHINGTON – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed Monday that he met with Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and owner of social media platform X, on Sunday after arriving in Washington. Musk, who recently took on the role of head of the Department of Government Efficiency in the Trump administration, was joined by David Sacks, the White House AI and Crypto czar.

During their meeting, Netanyahu requested and secured cooperation from both Musk and Sacks on all matters related to artificial intelligence, aiming for a full partnership between the U.S. and Israel in this critical field. With the U.S. set to invest hundreds of billions of dollars in AI, Israel is expected to play an integral role in the agreement.
At the end of the meeting, the trio developed a working plan to integrate Israeli forces into U.S. programs, which is expected to benefit Israel’s cryptocurrency, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence industries for years to come. However, the meeting comes amid concerns among some U.S. Jewish groups following Musk’s controversial actions at Trump’s inauguration, where he appeared to give a fascist salute, sparking alarm.
