I feel like all these causes were probably found on some employee’s government funded international vacation. I can only imagine some intrepid chair warmer taking a trip to an artisanal gold mine in the Amazon and giving them a bijillion dollars cause “why not”.

obviously, these are “projects” that should be cut, but they only add up to about $150 million, which in the context of the american government, is not even a rounding error. for context, usaid disbursed $72 billion in fiscal year 2023, of which $16 billion went just for ukraine. if this “department of government efficiency” is going to earn its keep, it’ll have to find a lot more dollars to cut.
In March, Congress will originate the next federal budget. There’s good reason to believe they will gut child tax credits, Medicaid, SNAP, CHIP and Section 8. Willi, NS, KJ and Lakewood all will crash without massive federal subsidies. A couple frum billionaires won’t be enough to cover the needs. Get ready to work for a living. It’s about time!
